BIOGRAPHY
4Series started life as the Jumbleys in the late 1990's in Wolverhampton, England as a band. Much of the early days were spent recording, jamming and learning at the Sam Sharpe Music Project.
In the late 90's 4Series were offered the opportunity to host a late night show on Skyline 94.2FM broadcasting from Wolverhampton across the West Midlands. Through these shows, 4Series became established as a soundsystem act and went on to reiforce a name for itself supporting the likes of Mad Professor, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Culture, The Mighty Diamonds, Johnny Clarke, Sly and Robbie and Roots Manuva in a soundsystem formation.
4Series have also been recording and producing tunes as a band since 2001, the first of these to recieve a release was 'Fire in the Skies', recorded and mixed at the Sam Sharpe Project which found its way onto Tanty Records 'Roots of Dub Funk 5'. We hope to release further material in the future. 4Series recorded their well recieved demo in December 2006, and you can here many of the tunes on our profile - as well as exclusive dubs.
We are in a fortunate position of being able to custom build tunes as a band to play out as a soundsystem. The Sons of David, 'Sacred Call' (on our player) backed by 4Series is a good example of this and the dubplate has been a big hit in dances in 2008.
From the knowledge we have gained through working a sound system, live performance and studio production we are creating a unique blend of music. Hold tight for the forthcoming releases and performances in 2009!!
