Bio
Since humble beginnings in a freezing farmhouse on the outskirts of Rochdale in the winter of 2006, outspoken alternative-folk quartet ..4Square.. has accomplished an incredible amount in a relatively short space of time. Not only has ..4Square..’s music matured into the most unique and exciting sound you shall hear from the British folk music scene today; they have also shared stages with the likes of ..Steve Winwood, Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson and Seth Lakeman... .... The band took Europe by storm in 2010, playing at several festivals across Europe, including Skagen (DK), The10th Highland Games, Sychrov (CZ) and AgiotFest (Corfu), as well as several UK fixtures. .... ..“4Square…who are they?”.. very much sums up the words on the lips of festival-goers before ..Fairport's 2009 Cropredy Convention.. took place. Despite this, after an astounding 80 minute set and encore before an audience of ..20,000.. people, ..4Square.. then went on to sell every last one of their debut album, ..20.20 Manchester.., becoming The Cropredy Convention’s ..2nd biggest selling band of all time!.... 4Square have appeared at many other festivals such as Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Towersey Village Festival, Warwick Folk Festival, Bromyard Folk Festival, and Spratton Folk Festival..... Their 2nd album ..“chronicLes”.. was released in June 2010, and is avalable on iTunes. .... 'Annoyingly brilliant. 4Square, a teenage folk phenomenon.' - ..PJ Wright.. .... STATE TO STATE

From Sydney Town,
In uni. break,
I drove out west
To earnings make
Onion picking,
On the fields
Of Echuca,
That year’s yields.
After day’s work,
From Y.H.A.,
A group of us
Would not delay
To walk on down
To the dirt rim
Of the Murray,
For a cool swim.
On one such day,
I do declare,
Some three of us
Had a big dare
To swim across,
From state to state,
The wide Murray -
I took the bait.
Yes, foolishly,
I took the bait -
A choice that I
Would come to hate,
For I almost
Did drown that date,
Making the swim
From state to state.
