Jesus and His Kingdom. Spiritual disciplines and the contemplative life. Art (american and contemporary please.) Thailand. Rock and Roll. Civil Disobedience. Non-violence. the color orange.
Music
Music: Bill Mallonee and the Vigilanties of Love (I found 'em first, and they are exactly what I want in a band!) BOWERBIRDS REM and U2 (loads of that on the iPod) maybe Waterdeep... It used to be Primus and Rage and Fishbone, but I'm not as in to that as before.
Movies
the Big Lebowski, Shawshank, Edward Scissorhands, 12 Monkeys and The Fisher King (both Terry Gilliam films), (embarassed to say) The Matrix, and for romance Say Anything. Anything by PT Anderson and Wes Anderson. Most of what Tim Burton does. I rented Kill Bill Vol.1 again recently and I loved it! I never run out of complaints for Titanic and Armageddon.
Television
House, the Office and the Simpsons. We're gonna get phased out come february.
Books
Authors: Paul, John, Henri Nouwen, Richard Foster, Larry Crabb, Dallas Willard, and then there are a lot of others that I've only read a little and can't say I love 'em.
The Divine Conspiracy gets 5 stars. (D. Willard)
Life of the Beloved, In the Name of Jesus, The Way of the Heart are really super great books by Nouwen (although they are all really great)
The Open Secret by Leslie Newbegin.
Prayer by Foster.
I read Brave New World in high school, and that was a good book.
Heroes
Henri Nouwen, Vincent VanGogh, this man - Father Adriano, who's a priest in Thailand. I also liked the Green Lantern

Good morning! Just wanted to say hi and I miss you. And I'm really feeling nostalgic about the Thundercats this morning... Anyway, I only had a chance to quickly scan your blog, but I liked it! I will read again when I can focus and respond. *hugs*
Come on Josh...let's not look at the past, just the wonderful future ahead of us! I am sure Tech will survive just one more year then their history is over. That shouldn't hurt our friendship? Right? :) I mean, I was your friend when we were getting beat. You should still be mine when we are beating you, right?
So I see...we are only friends for 8 months out of a year? ;) Other than that you are my enemy! Hope you enjoy the cold weather in Chicago! Just remember me when Nebraska shows Clemson how to play football.
Good morning! How's the cold up in the North?? I'm going to the November Hearts Apart event (for spouses of deployed members) this afternoon--it's supposed to be like a day at the spa. Should be fun! :) HELLO and HUGS to all of you!
Yeah, my mom told me about getting to see you guys (I'm pretty sure she was gloating...), needless to say, I'm very jealous. However, if she doesn't get over her bronchitis, I'm stealing her plane ticket and coming to see you instead. :) So Monday's the starting day, huh? Yay! Are you excited?? Do you work a normal Mon-Fri with this job?
Hey!! Long time to see. Are you in Chicago yet? If so...you need to update your myspace...that is what comes first. If you're there, how is it? I have an aunt that lives there. She loves it. Write to me soon! I am stuck in a sandbox and I can't get out!
Hey!! Thanks for the b-day comment guys! Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I've been pretty busy here. Things are going good though, and I'm having a blast with the whole college thing. And it was amazing to have a Friday birthday...I thoroughly enjoyed it. So how are the McCallisters these days? Everything still good and such?
