Visual Art
All my work begins with a photograph. From there various levels of manipulation and overlay are applied. There is a certain degree of haphazardness involved in my process ... that is to say that I don't always have a specific vision for a piece, but rather an acknowledgment and awareness of a resonance between myself and my material. This connection does not always produce what I consider worthwhile work, but even through these 'failed' pieces I generally find growth one way or another.
Many of my pieces incorporate multiple images. As a result, the work offers me a distinctly different experience than another observer. Having taken these photographs myself, each component holds within it a much wider gamut of representation than the strictly visual. For me these images would be more likened to memories in a contemporary photo album context. Memories with very specific sensual contexts ... the specific touch, taste, smell, and emotive sensations are mine alone. Taken a step further, many of my images incorporate photographs spanning multiple shoots from different locations at various points in time. At this point the work transitions from functioning as a memory to acting more closely as a memory of a dream. An amalgamation of memories abstracted into something completely unique and greater than the sum of its parts. At this point hopefully the work comes full circle, and I become reunited with my audience in a more equally shared perception of the art.
Well, this number follows me...I was born on may 31.st if you reverse the order of numbers you get 13..I have 13 stairs in my app. :) My fave number is 13...

Not bored yet...:) my sistas wedding was awesome last night and I did some sweet hungover single-track on Mt. Werner in Steamboat this morning then I'm headed back to Moab tomorrow... besides the huge digger I took and the gaping flesh wound on my arm all is well...lol how are you??
