chinesehappy was a melodic indie punk band from the summer of 2003 to the fall of 2007. They tried to live by DIY ethics and make unformulaic music. They played 4 national tours and many basements, halls, clubs and bars around Michigan. They encouraged their audience to combat homophobia, racism, sexism, environmental destruction and classism. That shit was pretty awesome.
If you like their music, you can still contact them here to order some of the cheap merch they have left, or head over to CDBABY.com to get a copy of their CD.

Bear Hands just got reviewed in the August Munkey Brain Fanzine, here is what it says:
"With the exception of the brilliantly chaotic "Rats" this band does a fairly good job at producing catchy pop numbers that are both interesting and relatively easy on the ears. There's even a cover of the Cure's classic "Friday I'm In Love" and it's no doubt an implication of the band's depth and versatility. While there are only six tracks on here Bear Hands proved to be an exceptionally strong effort."
From Punk Planet ..75 Chinese Happy-Rampage CD
I fell in love with this terrific Detroit area pop-punk band upon first hearing them when I reviewed their prior full length a couple of years back. This follow up is just as amazing as their debut, with Chinese Happy speeding things up a bit this time around. They capture the energy of early-'90s pop punk while also blending in earlier punk influences, giving their simple songs a vitality few poppy bands possess these days. Rampage is highly recommended for those that miss the '90s pop-punk era. (AE)
removing the Chinese Happy entry from Wikipedia was wrong. regardless of the band's final outcome, it had existed. just my opinion... no wait, that is a fact.
dude im jealous. I probably cant come to D-town anytime soon but maybe in a few months. I am back in school this summer and working so I hardly have anytime. If I get some or find a cheap/free ride into Detroit Im going to pay you a visit. Tell Aaron and the XYZ boys i said hi.
I miss you guys! I hear you were at Carol and Erik's wedding, I'm sad I missed it but I do get to see them more than anyone else back in the States so I guess I shouldn't whine too much about it. Still...did Jason wear a robot outfit? You know what, even if not, just tell me that he did. That's the way I like to picture it. A robot in a suit.
you guys are playing on my pricy mp3 player. i looooove it. and il think your detachment makes you a robot. i think you lack of concern makes you hallow. PS: if you guys play 217 fest, i will be super excited. cuase then il get to play with my fav band again.
I look at Chinese Happy sticker every time I pick up my guitar, and I remember when you all played a show in someone's basement in Midland, and it was only five of my friends, myself, and three other people. And I miss it.
Hey! Whats up?? I just wanted to let you know we are doing that new band showcase thing at cornerstone and we need people to vote for us! If you get a second could go to to their website and vote for us to play? Thanks!!
