You can’t describe a band like 5:17 without first reading the verse the band is based upon. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reads “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
Monroe Franklin, Danny Wilson, Frank Winkler,Ricky Brank,Christian Wilson, John Rothrock, and Robin Hudler, through God, has generated a powerful ministry. “We’re not just a band, we look at this as a ministry opportunity” said Ricky. 2008 holds new endeavors for the group with a cd recording in process. The band is looking forward to what God has in store for them in the future.
5:17 has teamed up with Youth on Fire to form New Creation Nation. This traveling youth evangelism ministry is working together to bring young people to Christ.
Hello, Melissa here from Howie Baptist in Waxhaw. THOROUGHLY LOVED THE SHOW!
The Holy Spirit was ALL OVER THAT PLACE! Thank you for letting God work through you and your ministry. As Donnie (our pastor's son and FUTURE PREACHER OF SOME BLESSED CHURCH) said below, your ministry is in our thoughts and prayers.
Hey, This is Donnie, I can honestly 100% say that this group is doing God's work, I will never forget you guys ever, You came and brought the confirmation that I was looking for in the calling I felt for the ministry. It is truly amazing how God works. I thank you so much for listening to God's call in your lives. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. I will never ever be able to thank you enough for what you have done in me and my family's life. God Bless You in all you do.
Stuart Allen told me about you guys and I'm happy to be a part of 5:17 team. Hope God puts his hand on you guys and make it big and show the world how it's done God's way!!
Just wanted to say that last night in Waxhaw words are not good enough for what we witnessed. Thank you so much and I am looking forward to seeing you all again
Hi everyone. I am posting this for one of the band member's wives. Nickey Wilson, wife of guitarist Danny, is in the hospital. She has several medical problems, that she controls with medication. However, one of the meds she takes, can be quite dangerous...as in this case.
Please say a prayer for Nickey. She is very faithful to God and to the band. And she is a great friend!
Hey everyone. I have a special prayer request. My cousin, Crystal Shore, 35, who lives in Florida, was just diagnosed with breast cancer.
Crystal has led a very sheltered life. Her mom forbade her to speak to her father, (my uncle), she never dated, never had a boyfriend, and of course never married. I feel like her life has passed her by, and she has missed out on so much.
Please pray for her. I've only met her once in my life, and we were teens then, and she clinged to "mom" like her life depended on it. She isn't mentally unstable, just basically brain-washed into believing everyone and everything is not good enough for her.
Hey everyone. Here is some information on the man the band prayed for at Lifeway Saturday night. Remember, he was the one on the Harley that was hit by a car and air-lifted to Charlotte.
The person at our church was Gary Brothers and he was riding his motorcycle and was hit by a car at the gas station right above Broyhill Main Office. They airlifted him to Carolina’s Medical Center and on Sunday he was in stable condition but is looking at quite a few surgeries. He has a broken left ankle, broken left arm, a broken left leg, broken shoulder and some pretty bad head and face lacerations. I think he is going to be ok, but he has a long road ahead. I am sure he will appreciate all the prayers.
Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that I won't be able to attend the 2 shows in Newland! :( I would love to go, but I can't afford the gas to drive there. Please don't replace me as the #1 Groupie!!!
I will be there Saturday night. I think that I can handle that one!
Attention all 5:17 fans please remember Mark Vestal and his family in your prayers. Mark is speaker for NCN ministries and lost his granfather this morning. Mark is a fine young man who loves God and loves to tell people about what God has done for him. Thank you for your support of NCN and for your prayers for this family.
HOW CAN I SAY THANK YOU TO YOU GUYS? LAST NIGHT WAS THE BEST NIGHT EVER! AND NOT BECAUSE OF THE GUITAR EITHER! I HAD PEOPLE IN CHURCH THAT HADN'T BEEN IN A CHURCH IN OVER 30 YEARS AND YOU IMPRESSED THEM EXTREMELY!!!
THAT WAS THE BEST PARTY I'VE EVER HAD! ALTHOUGH THE ANTICIPATED AMOUNT WAS LARGER, THERE WERE STILL A LOT OF PEOPLE THERE...WISH WE GOT A HEAD COUNT! HEHEHE
AGAIN...THANK YOU JUST DOESN'T SEEM ENOUGH. BUT I DO THANK YOU. YOU ARE SUCH AN AWESOME GROUP AND I THANK GOD THAT I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOU GUYS IN MY LIFE!
Hi guys. I was checking my email this morning, and here is what my friend Shana, (she is a member of Nazareth) told me...
From: "Shana Brown" .. To: "Mary Strawn" .. Date: Fri, 25 Apr 2008 09:43:24 -0400 Subject: RE: last night Yes, 5:17 was really good, no wonder you guys are so proud of them. The guy you spoke to last night was David Johnson, I will try to keep reminding him that you need a head count.
And Yes James Wilfong is wonderful isn’t he. He has really done an awesome job, I can hardly wait for tonight. Our church is normally rowdy but it is really rowdy when he comes. I know I for one really needed this revival. Please tell the members of 5:17 thank you from us. I bet someday we hear them on the radio and we will be able to say we knew them when….. Stormie is completely taken by them, she may become your new best friend. I told her that they practice on Mondays at the church and she asked if I thought they would mind if she went down there and watched. I told her I would ask and see.
