Interests

  • General

    Sports: soccer, football, basketball, hockey, golf. Appreciate music, particularly hip-hop, blues, jazz, soul, Afro-pop, reggae, rhythm and blues. Appreciate reading and writing poetry, essays and more. History and culture are very important subjects.

  • Music

    Jazz, hip-hop/soul, reggae and blues are my favorite types of music. Afro-pop has the greatest guitar playing in any type of music I have ever heard, particularly 'juju' music from Nigeria. I appreciate the type of 'conscious' rap that one hears on kpfk radio ( www.kpfk.org ). Calypso is also a very melodious and topical for of music. The funk of the 1970's - 1980's has to be revived, it was a very beautiful type of music that was good for dancing and singing.

  • Movies

    My favorite movies are 'The Ten Commandments, ' because it taught about the history of Egypt and of the Hebrews. The untold history was as important as what was told. Another great movie is 'Uptown Saturday Night." I appreciate movies from the Nigerian Movie industry ( see http://community.webtv.net/nubianem ). Capoeira martial Arts movies from Brazil or those done in the US are some of my favorite martial arts movies, ( see http://community.webtv.net/nubianem2 ) for more about capoeira Angola.

  • Television

    I appreciate public television because it is one of the most informative there is. Cable tv also offers some good programming. International programming on cable tv is also informative and educational. Some local tv is also good at informing on the issues adn the news.

  • Books

    Reading is one of my most important hobbies. History books are my favorite but I read everything from comics to research books and encyclopedias.   • Heroes

    My parents and grandparents are my heroes. My historical and contemporary heroes are first, Ahmose 1, who was the Egyptian that freed Egypt from oppressive rule and returned Egypt to the Khemitic people about 1500 BC (see, "Susu Economics," at AuthorHouse.com ). Tarharka the Nubian Pharaoh of Egypt is another important hero. Those who helped to make life free and easy for others are my heroes.

About me:

I love to study and read anything having to do with 'Susu Economics,' or the world economy. Poetry and essay writing are two of my favorite pastimes. I enjoy sports and hockey, basketball, soccer and football are my favorite sports. I appreciate all types of poetry. My favorite anthology is 'Rap, Rhyme and Rhythm: Rapsody in Hip-Hop, Rhythm and Rhyme," ( AuthorHouse.com ) one of the best books on poetry I have ever enjoyed. The new hip-hop poetry syles and watching poetry slams are the coolest thing to do. My favorite type of music is jazz and hip-hop soul. Jazz is soothing and helps the mind to expand and remain stimulated. Hip-hop soul is soothing and it carries the great legacy fo Rhythm and Blues, as well as soul music. I also like to read about the history of music and my favorite source is "Americans and their Idols," ( Infinity Publishers.com http://community.webtv.net/nubianem ). I have been able to appreciate the art of singing, songwriting and the playing of music due to reading and having the knowledge of how the previous generations appreciated their music.
