Emyl, Cresciuta con le note dei Beatles e di Janis Joplin, già a 7 anni mostra una certa predisposizione alla musica che la porterà a comporre i suoi primi brani all'età di 15 anni. Comincia così ad esibirsi e decide di compiere il passo che la porterà incontro all'esperienza che più le ha segnato la vita, sia personale che artistica...l'Irlanda. A 18 anni approda a Galway, "città ritrovo" di artisti di strada: la vita da Busker e le interazioni con musicisti del posto le confermano che la strada è quella giusta e, seguendo la via della musica, decide di rientrare in Italia, precisamente a Roma, dove continua ed esibirsi ininterrottamente e partecipa, vincendo, ai primi concorsi. Il 2005 la consacrerà sul palco del Cornetto Free Music Festival: scelta per la data napoletana della manifestazione, Emyl divide il palco con artisti di calibro internazionale quali Jamiroquai, Joss Stone e Morcheeba. Dopo questa esperienza Emyl si trasferisce a Milano, dove sviluppa un nuovo progetto che la porta nel 2007 e nel 2008 a vincere il concorso "Talenti per Natura", organizzato da Lifegate Radio, e sempre nel 2008 sul palco di Sanremo Off e Lamezia Terme ( DemoFest ), selezionata dal programma radiofonico "Demo" di Radio Rai Uno, che ha "adottato" NIENTE DA DIRE come sigla di chiusura del programma DEMO. Nel 2009 vince il contest NOKIA MUSIC LAB e il brano "ANGIE'S LOST" viene pubblicato sul Nokia Music Store. La sua musica la porta ad esibirsi in giro per l'Italia e anche all'estero ( Londra, Parigi e Lugano) e nel 2010 apre i concerti di artisti indipendenti come Cristina Donà e Marta sui Tubi. Nel 2010 viene selezionata da Red Ronnie per un'esibizione nella metropolitana di Milano in occasione del LIVE MI. Nel 2011 apre il concerto dell'artista americano Adam Lambert e a giugno viene scelta per esibirti in occasione del MITO FRINGE in un palco della metro Duomo di Milano La voce di Emyl trova il canale perfetto attraverso le note che il gruppo (due chitarre acustiche, violoncello e batteria) riesce a creare. L'effetto è una musica dai tratti marcati e sognanti al tempo stesso. Sapori di Sicilia ma anche richiami anglosassoni caratterizzano la sua musica. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was born in Sicily in 1979. I started singing and playing at the age of 7. When I was 18 and 22 I went to Ireland and I spent my time busking in Galway and Dublin for a while. In 1998 I moved to Rome and formed a band , The Blaze, with which I performed in many pubs and music contests. In 2005 I won a very important competition, CORNETTO FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL and played with international artists such as JAMIROQUAI, JOSS STONE, MORCHEEBA,US3... In 2007 I won a competition called TALENTI PER NATURA ( naturally talented) organized by LIFEGATE RADIO in MIlan. IN 2008 my song "NIENTE DA DIRE" was on air for many months as the theme song of the national Italian radio program DEMO RADIO RAI 1. In 2009 I've won the NOKIA music competition called NOKIA MSIC TRENDS. LAB and the song "Angie's lost" will be included in a Nokia compilation. In 2009 I also went to play in PARIS for "LA FETE DE LA MUSIQUE" just behind the NOTRE DAME CHURCH. In 2010 I was the open act for the independent famous artist CRISTINA DONA' and for the band MARTA SUI TUBI and in 2011 I opened the American singer ADAM LAMBERT. I have finished recording my album and I am currently looking for a booking agency and label. The band is composed of 5 members ( voice, cello, , 2 acustic guitars and drums)
