About Josh Roberts & The Hinges

www.myspace.com/foottunes

Since 2005, Josh Roberts and the Hinges have made 3 records, toured extensively, and had a fantastic time. They will continue to do so.

Discography:
The Sugar Bird Test 2005, full length.
My War Cry is Amor 2007, full length (featuring Ryan Monroe of Band of Horses)
Are You Going to Eat That? 2008, EP

Quotes:
“For Are You Going to Eat That?, Josh Roberts pours a few fingers of whiskey, pulls up a stool and grabs an acoustic guitar for a seven-song sabbatical from the Hinges, his regular rock outfit out of Columbia, SC. The time off is well spent. “The Reformation” with Leslie Branham on harmony vocals has the feel of a classic Johnny & June Carter Cash collaboration without coming off as petty larceny; “My Sweet” leans more to the Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris side of duets. “Wasp In Dirt Dauber’s Clothes” shares the same punk-rock simplicity as Link Wray’s “Rumble ‘65.” Roberts ponders his unorthodox outlawlessness on “I Guess I’m A Bit Of An Outlaw After All” and contemplates the meaning of life (and shows he’s no slouch on the slide guitar) on “Atom Inhabiter,” but it never comes off as idle navel gazing.”

— Andy Tennille (blurtonline.com)

“...the touchstone is Roberts’ most excellent way with words. Whether he’s inspired by The Tudors, Smokey and the Bandit, or contemplating the duality of man, Roberts taps into something universally true, amazing, and truly amazing."

“...On stage and in the studio, Josh Roberts and the Hinges embody that spark that made titans of Dylan in the ‘60s, Neil Young in the ‘70s, and Springsteen in the ‘80s.”

“Roberts has been making music — good music — for a long while, but on last year’s “My War Cry is Amor,” the son-of-a-gun painted his masterpiece. All hyperbole aside, “My War Cry is Amor” is a sprawling, cinemascopic set of blessed Rock’n’Roll that only the south seems capable of producing."

— Kevin Langston, Free Times (Columbia, SC)

Hi there! How was your show? I am sure it went well! Are you still working at the restaurant I saw you at when I was out to lunch with my bosses/co-workers? (I know, that was like 2 years ago, but I have been sick since then!)

Hey there stranger! I would LOVE to get out and see you guys play! However, since Bean left me, it's my weekend to have Savannah, and I really can't go around my myself these days anyway! Especially at night - my illness makes me tired at the end of the day! (The 4-year old contributes vastly to that fatigue!) =) Just keep me on your list of people to remind and maybe I can get out for a show when Savannah is with her dad for the weekend!

Hello, after an unfortunate hiatus, the reasons for which are probably best not gone into here, we finally have some new music on the AUK MySpace site. For your listening pleasure this month we offer Nathan Oliver, Conrad Ford, the irrepressible Todd Snider and the delightful Beccy Owen. Don't forget too, for those of you within striking distance of Leicester, Electric Dustbowl 2 on 19 September.

How do you say thank you for what very well may be a life changing event, made possible by Yall. Thank you can never cover it. As I sit here with tears of joy mixed with tears of fear of the unknown, I know this,I love you all. I will forever remember what you have done to help me and my family through this battle I am having with my body. With the overwhelming emotion I am feeling right at the moment, this is all I can say. There is nothing wrong with my heart you guys have filled it with joy, now all I have to is fix my brain and I will be right on. See you on the 11th I want all my friends to hear the wrath of the band I claim as my flavor to savor, lol

Hey..... stopping by to show some love to your page...

i am also stopping by to let you know that i am working with a charity that helps underprivilaged kids...

i am selling five songs online and contributing ALL THE PROCEDES to the charity where i will perform for the kids, and then take all of them to SeaWorld for a day of fun...

you can purchase the songs right off my myspace page and it would be a great help. i am already contributing over three thousand personally to the event but taking over 100 kids to SeaWorld with buses and everything is not easy...

Of course i would appreciate the support. Buy the music on the page and contribute to helping..

so on behalf of the kids i am saying thanks.
