What is Ladyfest Vancouver?www.ladyfestvancouver.com
Ladyfest originated in Olympia WA, home of the Riot-Grrl movement. It now occurs internationally, with each festival being organized, in the spirit of the original event, by small groups of independent parties. Ladyfest Vancouver is a small collective of people promoting "urban feminism," inspired by DIY Riot Grrrl culture. The main goal of Ladyfest Vancouver is to promote feminist issues in our city and raise awareness of womens rights amongst young and old alike. We are hoping to dispel the myths that feminism is taboo and gender-specific. Ladyfest Vancouver offers something for everyone, whether you are an identified feminist or curious about the ideas of it. ..
