Ever so often, time produces something special for the world to
enjoy... Chicago, a new hot bed for music talent has once again given
birth to another great MC. Up steps Mikkey, a product of
Southside Chicago's notorious Wild 100's section, is not new to the
industry. Mikkey got his start with super-producer Kanye West. West produced Mik's first demo which landed him a deal with Cash Money Records, but being a product of a circle that has produced a crop that reads like a midwest who's who... (Kanye West, Common, No I.D., Shawnna, etc.) it ended up being a short stint. He did a lot of ghostwriting before returning to his roots to begin crafting the soon
to be Classic... "Chicago:The Photo Album". Back in his old stomping
grounds, Mikkey reconnected with No I.D. and started recording. No
I.D. took a few songs to Jermaine Dupri, and they quickly did a deal
at Virgin Records. Production on his debut album is handled in bulk
by No I.D., with help from 1120 (Liquor Store), Jermaine Dupri and Kanye West to name a few.
Mikkey's style of Classic Hip-Hop lyricism mixed with a street
wise perspective should make Hip Hop heads go wild, all while his "Wild
100's" imagery is enough to keep the block locked down. It's been a
while since an artist has shown lyrical integrity, depth, and street
savvy... Up steps Mikkey. 2006
is casting the hit stage production & showcase "The Black Light" This production will address the unaddressed issues in our communiy through poetry & rythm. To start in August.
"It's more than a production, It's an experience!"
