Gerry's Interests
|
| General | I am interested in natural health, new age and metaphysics, spirituality, computer games, nature, reading, learning, movies, traveling, politics, skiing, watching football, and a lot of other things. | | Music | I like classical music and rock. My favorite band is the Moody Blues. I tend to dislike hip hop and country and abhor rap. Generally, if they weren't famous 35 years ago I don't know who they are. There are exceptions.
| | Movies | I go to the movies at least once a week. I like all kinds of movies that do well what they are supposed to do, e.g. comedies should be funny. That seems obvious except to the people who make movies apparently. I especially like spiritual allegories such as The Matrix or Forest Gump. | | Television | I rarely watch TV except for sports. I sometimes watch programs on a big screen HD TV just for the amazement factor. | | Books | I usually read at least one non-fiction book a week. I am running out of space for them all at home and may have to open my own branch library. | | Heroes | My heroes include Thomas Jefferson who promoted the libertarian component to the foundation of our nation. I admire Ludwig van Beethoven who, like me, was a nature lover, libertarian and punster. He was a pretty good piano player too. |

Gerry's Blurbs |
About me:
Yes, this is the real Gerry, not a poser. Seriously, if you are reading this you are probably related to me. But, not enough about myself... My father told me that there are three things you aren't supposed to talk about in polite company: politics, religion and the other man's woman. Too bad since those are some of my favorite topics. Oh yeah, my wife enforces the ban on that last one. I prefer to be a free thinker so my politics runs to liberarianism and my religion is philosophical inquiry.
I am a reformed brachiator, cyberholic, drug pusher (pharmacist), INTP personality, actualizer / fulfilled in values and lifestyle, and Amway failure but who has never appeared on Jerry Springer for deviant behavior. I am also a "Benevolent Ruler" according to the Kingdomality Personal Preference Profile test. I am a former member of Mensa but my aging brain probably couldn't make the cut these days.
I am the co-founder (with my wife Amber) of Netriceuticals, Inc. (www.netriceuticals.com) as an alternative to dangerous and toxic prescription drugs, and am studying for my ND (doctor of naturopathy) degree.
My proudest accomplishments are my two sons Brent and Nathan and my daughter Kira.
I have a twin brother, Tom, well worth looking up. He calls himself nntrancer.
If you are a producer he writes movie scripts... good ones, too.
Now for a sermonette:
Life has a few simple rules which, if followed, would make this a better world. I do not claim to be a paragon of these virtues but if you are reading this think of it as a reminder of what you already know. Since you are reading this let's make this moment more valuable.
1. Be kind to others. "Love your neighbor as yourself" is a bit difficult for most people who don't even love themselves. Instead, open your heart to love and your mind to understanding. Do not miss an opportunity to help. There but for the grace of God could be you. Most misery in life is self-inflicted by an overarching defense of the ego. Surrender your own importance and love and peace will follow.
2. Live a life of honor and nobility. Try to live your highest values. Do not defile your body with holes and cheap grafitti. Do not stuff toxins and garbage in your mouth and spew it out at every opportunity. No not lie, deceive, or pretend to be someone you are not. Not everyone is a world class athlete, a genius, a millionaire, or a famous person. You can be a good person and that is more than enough. A simple and unexpected act of kindness or assistance to another is worth more than an award.
3. Don't take life so seriously. None of us get out of this alive. Enjoy every moment if you can. I believe that we picked our life before it began. The handicapped, the brutalized, the sick and the sad, are spiritual heros who chose a learning experience of courage and intensity. Your real self is shining purity. Remember that and look for the light.
4. Learn everything you can. Do not settle for anyone else's truth. Stop and question, then keep an open mind. No one has all the truth and probably has little of it anyway. Dogma is killing us all.
This has been a public service announcement.
Here's the results of a profound and insightful quiz that tells all about me and took a couple of minutes.
| You Are a Prophet Soul |
You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone.
Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people.
Sometimes this faith can lead to disappoinment in the long run.
No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.
You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle.
Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings.
A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning.
You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer.
Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul

Who I'd like to meet:
I am interested in meeting anyone with similar interests. This, of course, excludes anyone from the IRS.
