About me:

hello3
Femke was raised on liquorice and buttermilk, reading her Dad's comics from the 60's, the picture books of Richard Scarry or the Little Golden Books. She lived nearby fields where she would roam the dredged ditches in search of stone pipe heads or animal skeletons. Today she lives and works in Amsterdam, the laid-back Dutch capital.

She's a cinematic fanatic and prefers comic books over novels and one day she hopes to visit Japan or Russia. Or travel to Alaska to see the northern lights. She likes all kinds of music and once said she believed that everybody should have a Tom Jones CD in their music collection. And her cat is the cutest on the block (and that's a fact for sure).

A few years ago she gave up being a full time illustrator to become a full time artist. At her home studio she creates mixed media paintings and black and white graphite drawings about card playing snowmen, lollipop ship captains, giant strawberry wrestlers and Halloween gods with lantern eyes. She often works on vintage objects such as boxes and wrappers, to create imaginary products with magical properties, surrealistic works that invite you to enter the world that lies inside.

Visit her website Femtasia to see recent work. Or add your name to her mailnglist to be kept up to date about upcoming exhibitions, new print releases or publications.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!

There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.

Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."

And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
