What's the secret to a perfect song?
There is no single "secret"as such.The archetypal "good song" is an elusive beast,and even the greatest song writers would be hard pushed,I think to pin it down.The question "would anyone want this?" is an important one to ask at every stage of the songwriting process-would anyone be pleased by this melody,will anyone dance to this fhythm,will anyone connect and empathize with these words and lyrics? A good song has to be a good song for everybody, or at least for the majority of people with an interest,and with an average faculty.It can't just be about or for you the song writer.Listen to as much music as you can-get out of your comfort zone and try something very different use every experience you have as a potential source of insiration.DONT FOLLOW FASHION.Write something that will last-"CLASSIC" is a great watchword.
