The 54 Steps band was originally born in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania around 1992 and disbanded in 1998 when founding member Phil Preisach moved to Virginia. (To read more about the begining, please see the "54 Steps Originals" myspace site. ) After a 3 year hiatus in Virginia, 54 Steps was officially reformed in the summer of 2001 with a new "South of the Mason-Dixon" line-up. 54 Steps part two
is comprised of four musicians from various backgrounds. Phil has roots in acoustic folk rock, oldies and southern rock, Russ has played Las Vegas show rooms and Texas honky tonks and Ken has been all over the world in the US. Naval Reserve Band. Newest member Steve, has played in Country as well as classic rock tribute bands. Together, these guys blend their individual music flavor and put on one hellava tasty show!
Some of their influcences include former bands "The Beatles" and "Creedence Clearwater Revival" , steadfast artists " Neil Young", "Tom Petty" and "The Rolling Stones" to today's artists "Nickelback" and "Shinedown". These influences , along with the band's own material , provide a unique blending of classic and modern classic rock n' roll that pivots the crowd onto the dance floor everywhere 54 Steps play.
They are currently working on a third album of original material to accompany the two previously recorded in Pittsburgh.
