Arto Monaco...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... MONSTERBUCK is singer/songwriter Chris Kowanko and brothers Byron Renderer on bass and Scott Renderer on drums. Originally known as a solo artist, Kowanko released several the albums "Kowanko" and "Spell", collaborating with legendary producers Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith) and Steve Fisk (Nirvana, Soul Coughing, Low). Monsterbuck drummer Scott Renderer is also known as an actor, having been a member of the Wooster Group and working with filmmaker Todd Haynes. Rounding out the trio is Byron Renderer on bass, longtime avant pop songwriter and member of the bands Suitcase and Bud Fender... .. Monsterbuck's debut album, "Land of Makebelievers" is inspired by an abandoned amusement park in Upper Jay called The Land of Makebelieve. The park was created in the sixties by a disillusioned hollywood set designer named Arto Monaco. Arto gave up on the park after numerous floods, and passed away, but his effort still serves as a source of inspiration in a weird fractured fairy tale sort of way for those who are lucky enough to stumble upon it.....
