Casey Rock Star wonders why - when he can see the Amazon.com building from his house - he still has to pay SEVEN DOLLARS shipping for just three books? Why is that?? Casey Rock Star is 46 and never been married. Why is THAT?! I am really a LIBERTARIAN, though understandably confused for a LIBERAL because my views on social issues are so liberal, yo. Casey Rock Star is a member of Mensa, Amnesty International, ABA, Human Rights First, and the ACLU. My hobbies? Well, hating Dick Cheney takes up alotta my time, though I am a big football fan too. Denver Broncos and Colorado Buffaloes, yo. The Nuggets are starting to show life now too. I am on balance a Christian - Catholic schools - but I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ himself, not the men who speak for Him. I am a JESUS PACIFIST: No wars. No guns. Ever. Period.Music
Movies
ALL-TIME FAVORITES: American Beauty, Lone Star, The Player, North by Northwest, Jacob's Ladder, Double Indemnity, Night of the Living Dead, Wonder Boys, Shawshank, Seven, Spanish Prisoner, Pleasantville, The Paper, Nobody's Fool (Paul Newman one), Hudsucker Proxy, Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, and both Godfathers (duh).Television
Only network shows I watch are L O S T, The Office and 30 Rock. Watch alotta news, some Fox (keep your friends close), but mostly MSNBC (all day long, yo). Countdown, Bill Maher and Colbert are TIVO 1-2-3. Frontline, Science Channel, History Channel, NFL Network, still Simpsons and Family Guy, and early M*A*S*H. Most HBO shows (although they're kinda running out of shows ... what's up with that?) I'm really torqued at that lazy Ricky Gervais for ending Extras because he "doesn't have the time" to work on it. Lazy Limey ;-) Casey Rock Star reports on the LAKERS over CELTICS for the NBA Title (KAUZ-TV Wichita Falls, Texas 1987)Books
Right now I'm reading Jeffrey Toobin's 'The Nine.' I'm a Constitutional Law geek - won a AmJur Book Award in Con Law. Also finishing 'Fear and Loathing on Campaign Trail 1972' (who knew Ed Muskie was such a jerk?) There is no doubt remaining - my current Gonzo binge has taken on a life of it's own. I should be committed at once. Recently read Marc Eliot's Eagles biography 'To The Limit,' it was interesting, but Eliot was bought off with a on-the-record Henley interview - and in return he omitted several episodes, including a Henley/Frey fistfight and Henley's arrest with cocaine and an underage prostitute in a Sunset Boulevard Motel. Doris Kearns-Goodwin's "Team of Rivals" was a triumph of rational philosophy ... Obama says "Team of Rivals" and The Bible are the two books he'd want on a desert island. That should be all you need to know this November. I read both John Stossel books this past winter, I cannot understand why more people don't take him seriously. Ray Kurzweil is on the cutting edge of broad-market science now - 'Fantastic Voyage' was a real eye-opener - I'm waiting for the right frame of mind to tackle his "The Age of Spiritual Machines: When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence." For fiction, 'Catcher in the Rye' was a seminal life-event in junior high. I love Michael Crichton and John Grisham, though both have slid steadily downhill (Grisham's The Last Juror was astonishingly awful). My favorite novel changes all the time, but as I type here it's Steven Hunter's 'The Day Before Midnight' (not to be confused with that horrible Dennis Quaid movie 'The Day After Tomorrow.' Now THAT sucked!)Heroes
Holden Caulfield, Bono, Benjamin Franklin Pierce, Keith Olbermann, Jimmy Page, Bill McCartney, and Jim Hill and all members of that Greatest Generation. THANK YOU to all who count yourselves members thereof.
