Music
I am very eclectic. I like a little bit of everything. Probably being around me when I'm listening to music is like listening to the radios of the cars driving by your house, you're never quite sure what's going to be playing next. That's me! I listen to popular stuff, the 90's stuff, but not all of it, 80's music to a point, I was born in 79 after all. I love Broadway musicals, but not all of them, mostly ones by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Hmmm some classical, the 4 tenors ROCK! I also can be found listening to country. It really depends on what kind of mood I'm in. What kind of music I don't listen to, well hard rock, electric rock, jazz, oh god the torture! Has my face melted off and my ears swelled shut yet? I almost forgot one of the worst kinds of music, that would be the granny crap my mom has recently opted to tune into, I'm talking 1950's classic HUEY! Yup folks you heard it here! So if you want to torture me, well I've given you the perfect tools, but if you want to get on my good side, I guess I've given you the options also!
Movies
Hmmmm well when it comes to my movie choices vs. music, I'd have to say that I'm not eclectic when it comes to movies. I like what male chauvenist call "chick flicks". You know the kind of movie that a man fights to go and see, and then loves in the end? The kind of movie where your tear ducts are just screaming to let the good ole' tears flow? Yup those kinds. I despise, and I mean totally, completely, and honestly HATE scarry movies. You know B movies, that all have the same basic, bottom line plot, that are supposed to "scare your pants off." Yeah classic insults to our intelligence. I don't mind a good Broadway Production turned movie as long as the basis of the idea is to keep them alike. One of those flops for me would be the remake of Les Miserables. Insulting at it's best. Claire Danes, and a mess of a cast, and NO MUSIC. The music is what makes that a musical worth tuning in for. I watched 15 minutes of it and literally threw it out the window. Waste of my dough! So I guess that would be my movie choices. Although don't get me wrong, occassionally you will and can catch me watching a movie all about some hot guy blowing things up. Sometimes some nice sweaty eye candy is all a girl needs to sweeten up her weekend, if ya know what I mean!!! Whoot whoot!
Television
Television for me has become a lot easier since Vermont got those nifty DVR's with our cable. Now I can record the shows I truly love, and fastforward through all the rediculous commercials. What exactly do I tune into you ask? Army Wives, Flip this house, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Greek, Tori & Dean, Burn Notice, Ghost Hunters, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Survivor, Big Brother, Ghost Whisperer, American Idol, House, Bones, Private Practice, CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, New Adventures of Old Christine, and Dinner Impossible.
Books
Ok, a subject that I enjoy. I love books. I am like a giant monster when it comes to them. I enhale them, sometimes 2 a day. I've read all the Harry Potter books, 1-7, (and sometime next summer will find me front row for the 6th) I enjoy reading romance books, but nothing with too much euphoric sex. I've learned that sex is never and won't ever be like that, so why torture my libido by reading about it? I love Nora Roberts, and have read all of her books that I can get my grubby little hands on. I also enjoy reading her writing as J.D. Robb. It's futureistic but in a plausible way. I went through a V.C. Andrews faze, but incest grew borring, not that it was ever interesting, but geeesh, ALL her books have some kind of incest. Get a new theme honey! I recently started trying out some "intellectual" books. I read the biography of Lucille Ball. Didn't know she was a fashion model, or registered as a communist. It was good, and it was a nice conversation starter. I have ordered from the GODS at
amazon.com some books I'm going to give a whirl. sTori Telling, by Tori Spelling (LOVE HER), and believe it or not this atheist is going to give a few spiritual books a try. I've ordered Whispers Through Time, and The Shack. They are national best sellers so I'm hoping the nation knows something I don't and they are good.
Heroes
Well it's kind of hard to list off heroes. I could list off a bunch of famous people who did great things, but honestly my heroes are a little bit more down to earth. I would have to say my Grandma Francis, she raised 8 kids, and tons of grandkids, enjoyed it and did a great job. My older sister, Christine, who plugs away at life and doesn't let anything keep her down for long. And of course my mom. Who deals with 3 kids who are grown but will always need their mommy, can outcook anyone I know, and always tells her children that she loves us!
