SaNN: BEHIND THE MUSIC
An 80’s baby, SaNN (whose real name is Steffon Smith) was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Raised in the birth place of the Motown Sound (Detroit, Michigan) SaNN took to music early. Savoring the sound of musical greats, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson opened up a new world to him. Where everyday problems, and disappointments could be transformed into a musical celebration of life. By the mid 90’s songs like “An’ to proud to beg” and “Ribbon in the Sky” were considered by many to be old school, and were no longer popular. A new sound had emerged; taking the youth in both suburbia, and ghettos across the globe by storm, Hip Hop (an art form based off of reggae) suddenly became the mainstream. It was around this time when SaNN discovered Tupac Shakur, a young vibrant emcee who was making a name for himself with songs like “Dear Mama” and “Shed so many Tears”. SaNN was intrigued by Tupac’s unparallel ability to capture his surroundings and feelings through music. Inspired, he began crafting rap songs at the tender age of 12. By 17 he had written well over a hundreds of songs, and had begun to venture off into poetry. In the summer of 2000, looking for new challenges and better career opportunities, SaNN moved to Houston. In of 2004, he released “SaNN; Blood of a prince” a collections of rap songs and poetry, which quickly eared him respect at local poetry venues and Night clubs.
With no promotion and little resources, SaNN was able to move 360 copies of B.O.P (Blood of a Prince) just from his book bag. Knowing the complexity and difficulty of trying to make it in the commercial world of music, SaNN opt for a different approach to fulfill his dream. In January of 2006, 575 was born, a company founded on the belief that artists can sell records without forfeiting their musical integrity.
With the formation of 575, SaNN hopes not only to change the game, but its players as well. With his first all hip hop Album on its way, SaNN has also branched out into producing. Once again raising the bar only for himself, but for other artists as well. At only 24 years old his vision is to conquer the world, But at this rate, the world may not be enough……

On 31.03.2007 we have started with uploading songs ( in a raw mix form ) from our upcoming albums Ugochill - Theory of Relaxivity and Trinity Roy - SummertimeMakossa.
