Peyote Mothership describe themselves as a psychedelic rock band who are not afraid to twist preconceptions, branch out, explore new musical territory and redefine the genre. With such an exciting live sound and the bands ability to free jam it is inevitable that the live festival scene will see plenty of ‘landings’.
The band borrow from the music of the past, using the technology of the present to take psychedelic music into the future.

A series of chance meetings? Pure luck? Or destiny and fate? All valid questions when we talk about how Peyote Mothership came into being.
Lee had been a solo synth artist recording under the name of Peyote for many years and also operating on the periphery of other bands. A recording of Lee's was released by Space Rock and Ambient DJ and radio presenter Terry Hawke on his “Hawke Chill-Out Sessions CD”.
A chance telephone call put Lee back in touch with Jason - an old school friend. Jason had also been recording as a guitarist in the time since these two had last spoke. Music was exchanged and the two quickly found a common ground - NOISE! These two sonic explorers soon set about recording some joint experiments together and from this came the idea to get together as a band.
Jason introduced bassist Joel and alongside a great friendship the nucleus of the group was formed.
The band then dreamt up the idea of giving away free 'transmissions' which are recordings of the bands rehearsals contained within a collage of ambient found sounds. The idea being, as if the Mothership’s scanners had recorded the noises it has picked up. These Transmissions are very important and the band will continue to release these as free recordings as a thank you to their supporters.
The first transmission was received very well, gaining airplay on Aural Innovations online radio in its 15 minute entirety, also getting the band good reviews in Organ Magazine, as well as Peppermint Iguana, Psychotropic Zone and Aural Innovations websites.
The Mothership’s engines are now firing on all cylinders and the band has released an EP which shows all aspects of their current sound. This EP launch was celebrated by the band appearing on Terry Hawke’s Space Rock and Ambient radio show for an interview and an exclusive play of the EP tracks. With many ‘scene’ DJs now in possession of this EP it is gaining airplay on several online radio shows as well as having its first public airing at Eastern Haze festival. With many festivals and gigs now being booked it looks like the Peyote Mothership will be in orbit for a long time to come.

Alright mate. Same old happening here too mate. I'm still selling mobiles for O2 and still recording the Hawkwind covers with Danny. Should be nearing completion soon, could have been a lot earlier but i've been a bit hit and miss with my recording and motivation, might have something to do with beer ;) !!
Great to hear that the mothership is taking off with all engines running. Nice tracks on your site. We too will be seeking a green field or seven once we have escaped the confines of Omnialand recording and rehearsal.
Will be good to share a rum on a planet near you soon. Go beyond. Capn Bags.
