Dorion's Interests
|
| General | I sew, make jewelry, craft and create in any I way can. I've enjoyed doing some voice work. Love driving my car (or anything else anyone will toss me the keys to), riding my Silverwing scooter, traveling (especially road trips -- I've been to something like 18 different ballparks), reading (typically nonfiction), live performance of literally any kind, my fuzzy buddy Sevie, long-winded conversations that don't involve shopping or where someone gets her nails done, and playing trivia. I'm a graphic/production artist, and I'd like to learn the accordion. | | Movies | The short list (in this order):
1. A Clockwork Orange
2. Harold & Maude
3. The Hunger
I am certainly looking forward to "Sin City 2." I will also watch any sort of monster movie, and Lon Chaney owns a mutated little chunk of my heart. | | Television | MST3K is my all-time favorite show; Dexter is my current favorite. Oh and Mike Rowe can come muck out my septic tank any time. | | Books | Here's a dark little secret: I have read dozens (if not hundreds by now) of books on folkloric vampires and vampirism.
"One Hundred Years of Solitude," "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," "Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant That Ever Lived" and "Jakob von Gunten" each made me weep. | | Heroes | I'm not sure I have "heroes"... But Sam Harris recently accomplished the task of changing how I think about some fundamental issues in this world. (Which led me to another couple of authors whose voices I would have talk me to sleep every night.) I have a healthy load of respect for people who allow themselves the unpossible. |

About me:

Brocade Lion at etsy.com
I'd say I'm funny, but looks aren't everything.
I can do sensory deprivation as easily as sensory overload.
I look for, and find, patterns in just about everything. I love numerical palindromes, and terms like "numerical palindrome."
I've been accused of being intense, but I can't imagine why; I'm a total pussycat.
There are a million other things I could talk about, but you'll have to get me started. Try talking to me about art. Or motorcycles. Or furless mammals. Or shiny things.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who have returned from the dead. Anyone with 12 fingers. My long-lost parasitic twin. Christopher Hitchens fait accompli 03Apr2008, Seth MacFarlane, Donatien Alphonse-François de Sade, Mal Reynolds, Marv.
“I drink because it makes other people less boring. I have a great terror of being bored. But I can work with or without it. It takes quite a lot to get me to slur.” -Christopher Hitchens
