I like reading, writing, gardening, going to my daughter's soccer games, professional baseball and hockey games, spending the day going to museums.
I love spending time in D.C. (and am fortunate that I live close enough for day trips)
One day I want to go skydiving... but I think I'll wait till my daughter is a college graduate... just in case... lol
BTW... Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.
Music
I listen to everything from classical to rock to alternative to opera to folk to blues to club music. And yes, I like it all! Although the number one preset on my car radio is NPR, cause I like talk radio. =)
Movies
I love movies... but there are a few favs I could watch repeatedly such as Patton, Godfather, Lion in Winter (the original version), Sommersby, Serenity, Constantine, Princess Bride, Monty Python's Holy Grail, Young Frankenstein, Pride & Prejudice (BBC version - ok, technically it's a TV series, but it's 6 hours long!), Blade Series, Bram Stoker's Dracula (the book is a good read too!), Mary Reily, The Craft. And I'm good with any campy horror flick...
Just watched Becoming Jane... it was fabulous, and anyone who is a fan of Jane Austin should watch it... Viewers warning though...if you're a sap like me and cry during movies, have a box of tissues handy!
Television
The Tudors (my new obsession), NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Dancing with the Stars, Boston Legal, Gilmore Girls (My mother swears that Loralai is based on me), Buffy, Sunday Morning, I'm also a news addict!
Books
Good grief, I read so many! I read at least a book a week, and if I have a couple of days off and I'm not working, I can knock off a book a day. I read every day, even if it's only for a few minutes before I go to sleep.
One I recommend is Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. It sounds a little morbid, but we're all going to be one some day - so donate yourself to science!
I like Anne Rice, Diana Gabaldoon, Johanna Lindsey, Tom Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton, Sarah Douglass... I could go on and on...
Heroes
Anyone with balls enough to serve our country in the Armed Forces!!!! I love you!!!!
Don't be a fool and die for your country. Let the other sonofabitch die for his. ~General George S. Patton
I write poetry for me. It's damned convenient if you like it too. I like to watch movies, good ones, bad ones, any genre. I listen to every type of music out there, and like 99.9 percent of it. Drum lines rock. I like to get lost in a really good book. My literary taste is as varied as my musical. I can go from a trashy romance, to an autobiography, to a fact based crime novel, and take a turn to sci-fi. I am always reading something, and when I don't have a book to read I feel lost. I love to listen to gossip, but if you ask me to keep a secret, I'll take it to my grave. I played the saxophone for years, but I can't sight read music worth a hoot. I like rude jokes. I appreciate a dry sense of humor. I am an equal opportunity offender, but I don't like hurting someones feelings. I play chess. I sing along to the radio, and am pretty good at it. I am one of the most down-to-earth, matter-of-fact dreamers you will ever know. If you ask me a question, and I ask you if you really want to know the answer, you probably don't. I believe in fairies & ghosts & things that go bump in the night. I am a survivor of sexual and verbal abuse. And if that makes you uncomfortable, well too fucking bad. I like to cuss, even though I could tell you the same thing much more eloquently if I really wanted to. I like to plant things and watch them grow, though the only indoor plant that has ever survived living with me is a cactus. Fresh ripe tomatoes just pulled off the vine smell like sunshine. I think everyone should read at least one classic novel. My moniker has nothing to do with my physical attributes. I am everything you think I am, nothing you expect, and always more than you could ever imagine.

Who I'd like to meet:
Any fellow poets! I love to read other's work, and to hear what they think about mine. I have gotten to know some great writers through Myspace, so many that there's not enough room in the "top friends" list to have them all there, so I have my friends list set to random... check out some of them!
Celebrity wise, John Malkovich, Dame Judy Dench, Dave Matthews Band, Andrea Bocelli (BIG sigh, the man just makes me melt!!!), Ellen (cause she makes me laugh), Joss Whedon....
I'm always open to new friends! Especially if you're funny...gotta love when someone can make you laugh... ;-)
Hey, sorry - I'm never on myspace anymore. I don't wanna lose touch. You on facebook? I think I have your regular e-mail somewhere. We'll be in DE the 3rd week of May. I'd love to have a reunion! :)

This has been a very challenging year for many folks in the United States, and abroad. War, hunger, and human indignities are rampant, and appear to be increasing.
Yet, there are some things in life we have to be thankful for. God is Great, and will never leave us. Many of us have families to love, and a roof over our heads. Very few in the U.S. have ever been hungry. And, thank God, our military, and our leaders that another 9/11 has not made it to our shores.
Today, I also want each of you to know that i appreciate your friendship. Some I see weekly, some monthly, and many I've never met. But, I still appreciate the kindness you've shown this stranger over the past months. And, I hope our friendships can continue and grow.
I pray that each of you enjoy a 2009 filled with Peace, Joy, and Love! God Bless You, John & family
Life is So Good. Each day a chance to breath deep, live, and love. I pray all is swell in your world. Here on the Most Eastern Shore, we woke to an inch of ice; and the weather-lady is promising a half-foot to eight to twelve inches later today and tonight. I believe this is winter bidding us farewell; and i'm glad to see her go! I'm ready for the Spring season, with budding trees and flowers. Animals out wandering around the forest, and Life refreshing itself once again.
I'm checking in here about once a week; have turned my attention to study, as I am in the middle of gaining licensure and credentials in my field, and am using facebook to maintain those working relationships. I'm there daily, and can easily be found. If you have a site, please add me :) What a joy to be alive right now. Enjoy each day my friend, you're always in my thoughts and prayers.
