In the beginningThe Other Side was created in February 2007 as an eight page photocopied zine by North Londoner Sam Lassman Watts, friend Rebecca Hall, three brothers and his mum’s photocopier. The magazine was a witty insiders’ guide to the Northern Line and north London and was distributed at Highgate Station. The north aspect played a large part in the early stages of the mag, and that’s where we got our name. Sam’s great aunt Ruby lives in Peckham and she had a buddy who used to go to Camden at the weekends. Ruby would ask “are you going over the other side today?” in reference to north London, and we became The Other Side magazine.

, the magazine has come on leaps and bounds. Adam Richmond and Nathan May entered the fray during the summer of 2008 and the trio began to shape a new look TOS mag. Now, two and a half years down the line, the boys are still plugging away and have crafted a London-based magazine with more writers, illustrators and designers involved than ever. They’ve even let some girls on board, and focus on what’s good in our city. Ranging from short stories to exciting features to amazing artwork, the Other Side offers an alternative, cultural, DIY look at the best London has to offer, without charging you a penny.Television

, who doesn’t enjoy sitting down to read a tasty magazine, made out of an actual tree? But we understand that this isn’t the only way we can talk to each other, and our website allows people to view our offbeat look at London online as well as offline. The site is run by Holly Clarke on a social network platform, taking your average website and adding endless possibility to it. Our blogs, forums and bulletins are monitored through activity feeds throughout the site for easy navigation. We have an abundance of quality writers who contribute and create exciting content on a daily basis.
