About me:

LOVE music as most people do. Don't do opera 'tho! Married to my California guy for almost 30 years (Feb 2013)...have one incredible daughter who played soccer for 18 years and will graduate from Cornerstone University this May 2013. An awesome Golden Retriever who is the greatest dog God ever created. .I was raised in the Kalamazoo, MI area (YES! Home of GIBSON GUITARS) until they moved to Tennessee. Asked Jesus into my heart when I was in 5th grade at a camp in New York but wasn't sure what to do next. The church my parents dragged me to was so DEAD and they sang these hyms that literally had no meaning. I remember thinking "what is a bulwark"? Jr.High was great, boys were still "kinda goofy". First 2 years of High school were great, then came the "wrong crowd, rebellion, yada, yada, yada". I KNEW in my heart that a lot of the choices I was making at the time were NOT what Jesus would want me to do....but being the "life of the party" gal that I was, I didn't care. College years were somewhat the same, parties, sorority things, however the Lord placed 3, THREE, roomates with me all from California. WHAT was up with THAT???? One of them had such a "peace" about her, her name was Kim from San Berdo. She literally led a life that modeled how a Christian should live. As I was running off to see "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" she'd be back at the dorm praying for me. It was just before graduating from college that I rededicated my life back to Jesus. It was wonderful, cleansing and I was full of PEACE and HAPPINESS again. Loooong story shorter, upon graduation, I moved to Woodland Hills, CA after I accepted a job with another roommate working at a camp in Westlake Village until something better came along. We QUIT the camp before it started. (Longer story). This particular roommate was living at home with her family and they were kind enough to let me stay with them. They were NOT believers, however I remember praying for them. They didn't go to church, thus, I had no way to attend church to be "spiritually fed or nurtured", and I began to backslide. I remember going to the bars with "ZOEY" and thinking "This is such an EMPTY lifestyle. I feel like a piece of meat waiting to be sizzled...yuck, who would ever want to marry one of these characters"? NOT the place for me to look for a future husband...but that's me! Later on that evening, I dug through my suitcase and picked up my Bible. I opened it up and started reading it. I got down on my knees and began to pray and the last sentence was (I'll NEVER forget it either) "Jesus, I know you have something better for me, please GET ME OUT OF HERE, Amen". No sooner did I say "Amen" and the phone rang. It was my previous roommate KIM, asking me "how would you like to come live with me and 2 other girls in Santa Barbara until you and I can find our own place"? I literally began to weep. I was like, flabbergasted, that God "worked so fast". I nearly had to get out the smelling salts! Ok, I moved to SB, Oh, how I still miss that place and the Lord provided the best place for us to live. Kim was attending a "Calvary Chapel" church, which I was very unfamiliar with. The only churches I was exposed to growing up were the ones that "sang hymns with weird words" (traditional type-stuffy-again my observation as a teenager) and the people didn't "walk their talk" so to speak. Calvary Chapel was a WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE for me. Man, they had a full on band with electric guitars, drums, acoustic guitars and a tambourine.....and there were NO HYMNS!!!!!!!! This type of worship was so incredible and new to me I couldn't stop talking about it for days. All I wanted to do was to go back to church to hear the worship band and sing REAL songs to Jesus my Savior! Needless to say, again, I said "Jesus, take me and use me for your glory". The rest is history. I met my future husband there at Calvary Chapel of Santa Barbara as he was a worship leader at the time and we dated for 6 months and were married 6 months later. We couldn't afford to buy a house in SB, so when we came back to MI for vacation (hubby asked for my hand in marriage, however, he asked me to marry him in the BASEMENT of my father's dental office....how romantic :0) my fiance, Tim, couldn't believe how CHEAP houses were/are. We stayed 7 more years in Santa Barbara before moving to southwest lower Michigan....5 minutes from Lake Michigan....we tell each other "it's the pacific without the sharks or oil deposits". Maybe someday, if the Lord leads and/or provides, we'll be able to move back to Cali. " For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".......JEREMIAH 29:11~13 So how's YOUR spiritual life goin' for ya?? Wanna talk?? I/we're open to hearing from you. Pray about it! Jesus loves you! Always HAS, and Always WILL!
