    The band masterfully mixes straight-ahead classics along with pop and contemporary jazz tune to create a sound and a mood that's unique among Chicago area instrumental groups. In the band's relatively short history, 5 aftr 5 has entertained large crowds at several major events within Chicago and the outlying suburbs. Successful club appearances include: Fred Anderson's Velvet Lounge in Chicago, The Drury Lane Theatre and Hecky's Jazz Club in Evanston. Among 5 aftr 5's crowning achievements have been rave performances at The Taste of Chicago in 2001 and 2005 They were featured performers at Chicago's South Shore Jazzfest.
