Formed in Manchester, NH and associated with the Boston music scene, 5 Bucks! played pop, punk, and ska music from 1997 until 2003. The band toured the Northeast regularly, the East Coast twice, and after their initial break-up, performed a single NH show in 2004.
5 Bucks! released four CD's and one 7" vinyl record. The band were known within the Boston music scene for their humorous and energetic live shows. 5 Bucks! often shared the stage with their friends, the Lazardos, Kicked in the Head, Big D and the Kids Table, and Digger to name a few. 5 Bucks! played several shows in 1999 to promote the release of their second CD "This Is My Girlfriend" with the Ataris while the California band were in the northeast promoting their CD, "Blue Skies and Broken Hearts". 5 Bucks! opened for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones in 2001 and 2002 in NH, MA, and CT. 2001 was the same year that Bosstones frontman, Dickey Barrett, invited the band to open the all ages day of the 8th annual Hometown Throwdown. 5 Bucks! toured the east coast in 2001 and 2002 supporting Florida's Spitvales.
The band played their farewell shows to sold out capacities in Nashua, NH (Drifters Nightclub) and Boston, MA (Axis Nightclub) in February of 2003. 5 Bucks! returned to the stage for fun and nostalgic purposes on June 16, 2004.
Post 5 Bucks! Music:
Band members formed two bands after 5 Bucks! disbanded, Air Hockey Champion and Witches with Dicks. 5 Bucks! drummer, Dave Lagueux, briefly performed in Boston band, Big D and the Kids Table during their 2003 United States, Canada, and European tours, including their appearance on the Vans Warped Tour that same summer.
