5 Go Swing draw their inspiration from the beauty and passion of Gypsy Jazz. Formed in Cardiff in 2004, they have quickly left their mark on the local jazz scene, thrilling audiences with an irresistible mix of beautiful melodies combined with compelling dynamic and rhythmic variety.
These musicians play with a zest and intensity that expresses the passion and romance of the Gypsy tradition. Their repertoire moves between lyrical mid-tempo swing jazz tunes (popular standards such as Night and Day and Sweet Georgia Brown), profound ballads, traditional Gypsy dances, exhilarating up-tempo swing, swaying bossa, bolero and waltz.
They capture the essence of a musical tradition that both exhilarates and moves.
Their growing reputation means they have a busy schedule across South Wales, including festivals at Pontypool, Brecon, Rhondda, Treorchy and the Kinsale Jazz Festival in Ireland and Black Mountain Jazz.

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
