This music project born around 1995 from the minds of Ricardo Preschel (Ricardo S.). and Joao Gata in Lisbon, Portugal, continuation of an old project called Amenti started by Ricardo Preschel and Fernando Cruz. The project evolved from a pure electronic sound back in the 80s to what can now be heard. The final form evolved, Joao Gata was invited to join and Teresa Salgueiro as well. The sound at the time was very much the likes of Clan of Ximox and Co. and the dislikes of record company's in Portugal, even with the fact that the main singer was Teresa Salgueiro...A known figure in Portugal these days. So, as expected things stopped for a few years… The action was resumed when Ricardo Preschel. proposed another reincarnation of the project to Joao Gata and The Quinto Imperio - V Imperio - was born in a spare Joao's room with only a couple of synth's and a low end computer. Much work, hours, arguments, rants and sweat was involved in the creation of this work. Building dedicated hardware to make it possible, etc. Ana Quintans was the original voice of this project, helping to push this project forward , and many of her original vocal lines can still be heard on the final vocal performance that went to record. She left after a year of hard work to pursue other life ambitions. After a tremendous endeavor to find a new singer, Isis was chosen to fill the gap left by Ana, helping to shape the V Imperio final sound. Many more hours and late nights were spend polishing things, so that they could be played by "real" performers for the recording sessions. After that, even more work had to be done so that we could play it live with a strings quartet. Nuno Rodrigues (ex Rodrigo Leao, Vox Ensemble and Sons do Vento) - oboe and English horn - had a major part in making it possible, sharing his enthusiasm to the other ex members of the ex. Vox Ensemble.

Timeless, Portuguese, original, made from the impossible, turned true due to perseverance and madness.
