Bio:
I started playing drums when I was about 12 years old. I had a this crappy old drum set I paid $25 for that was probably a bottom line model from Sears but it worked and I kept it set up in my parents garage where I would play (much to the dismay of my neighbors). Soon after that I picked up a guitar and started teaching myself chords (with additional help from my oldest brother, Tommy). Later in high school, I started a band with a couple friends and we called ourselves Notes From A Strange Mailbag. We played all originals including crowd favorites such as, Uh x 4, EEEE and Doy! While attending college in North Carolina, I started a new band called The Straight Ahead which later became Bus Stop. Bus Stop played original songs and recorded 4 CDs in 4 years. We landed a gig on a TV show called Dick Clark's Music Challenge, which we won (the band division). We also got signed to Warner Chapel Music for a short publishing deal. After a few years Bus Stop ran it's course and I recorded a CD called One Room. I also started doing a lot of music for local, regional and national commercials and landed a national TV ad for Hershey's and one for Mercedes Benz. A few months later I got calls from a few major record labels who were interested in signing me to a deal and releasing One Room. I went with Universal Music Group. I also got a new publishing deal with EMI. One Room is still available online at Amazon.com and CDBABY.com. In 2002 I started working with LoveCat Music and also began playing guitar with a band called Walrus. During the next few years my songs were placed in several TV shows and motion pictures including Scooby Doo, In America, Mtv's The Hills, Sex In The City, Friday Night Lights, Ugly Betty, America's Funniest Videos, The Biggest Loser and several others. In 2008 I began writing for Shadow Mountain Music out of Nashville. Taking advantage of the slumping economy, I started playing numerous acoustic shows with upright bass extraordinaire Dana Bearror. Stay tuned for a new CD from Evan And Dana!!!! .. ....Myspace Layout Generator
