About me:

New official UPDATE For 2010: ROBOCHRISTMAS is now known as ROBOLIGHTS. The new official name changes takes place immediately and the display will return 2010 or 2011 for your enjoyment. Upgrades & improvements are occurring or underway and certain elements are being changed. The new theme will now be an artistic annual light show full of visual splendor of lights and artistry for all to enjoy. The light show will no longer reference any particular holiday however the light show will still occur during the same time of the year from late November to Early January and will vary slightly each year. The lights from now on will be clear & green.
:UPDATE 2009:
Robochristmas faces the end after 22 years of operation due to a new neighborhood grinch. Read blog for futhur detals
We are sorry but there will be no more Robochristmas for Palm Springs that draws in 10,000 of visitors a year. This is an official Robochristmas announcement for the 2009 season and perhaps beyond :UPDATE: A new neighbor moved into the neighborhood as of early Fall of 2008 and complained to the town about the essential artworks that make the ROBOCHRISTMAS light show unique as the nation's largest residentaul and most visually unique artistic light show that draws 10,000s of visitors every year for nearly the last quarter century. ROBOCHRISTMAS is also known internationally as a major legend. As a result of the grinch's complaints to the town of Palm Springs regarding the light show & artwork means there will be no ROBOCHRISTMAS 2009 this year. This grinch also harassed us during the operation of the 2008 light show causing problems for both my father and me. My apologies goes out to the 10,000s of people who will be saddened by this news this year with one less place to take their families & kids to however it is out of my control as a result of the grinch that stole Christmas after 21 Years of bringing joy and happiness to countless individuals that began in 1987 when I was only 13 years old. Sadly there is very unhappy & bored souls out there that are unhappy with themselves and they want to spread their unhappiness with others. Though they may be the minority numbering only one person, this one person has a powerful potential to ruin things for the rest of the majority of us. Right now we have been in negotiations for almost a year with the town of Palm Springs since last November and the town is working diligently with us to hopefully resolve this situation with the grinch and yet at the same time for the grinch to not create major problems for the town. At the same time when the grinch came around my only brother still remains in a coma from a car crash and my aunt passing away breast cancer. Times are very difficult however I am grateful for all the past years I have brought untold joy to the community and those that travel from all over the world just to see ROBOCHRISTMAS. My fullest gratitude goes out to the the town of Palm Springs for their support.

There is also several computerized animated displays within Robochristmas. Also see the ice coffin and cave where the lifelike grinch and the reindeer biped being reside. Seeing is believing. Kenny Irwin Robochristmas 2006 #5.. "Inside the Christmas Village" "Summer Lewison and Kakie Urch The Desert Sun December 21, 2005 Wide-eyed wonder at the lights of Christmas is a holiday tradition. The desert has plenty of opportunities to show your young ones or out-of-town visitors the sights against the dark sky. From the 4-acre, 5.7-million-light display artist Ken Irwin Jr. puts on in Palm Springs to the Cathedral City street known as "Candy Cane Lane," and the professional light array at WildLights at The Living Desert, the night sky comes alive for the holidays. If you're looking for a walk-through light display that's punctuated with found object sculptures, Irwin's jaw-dropping display at 1077 E. Granvia Valmonte, one block north of Alejo Road and one block east of Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs might be your choice. It opens when the sun goes down and costs the Irwin family more than $20,000 a year to light. Featured this year on HGTV as one of the top light displays in the country, the spectacle is amazing. And it's grown nearly every year. "I told Kenny, 'Wait a minute, I said just some lights'" reminisced Ken Irwin Sr. about his son Kenny Irwin Jr.'s earlier years putting up lights."-Courtesy of Summer Lewison and Kakie Urch of the Desert Sun Newspaper-

The nativity scene at the light display has been done because I live with a mostly Christian family. The Nativity is done out of respect for my father who is Christian. For many years he requested that I put a nativity scene in the light display and it was done. He is a very loving, respectful and supportive father of my artwork. It is done in peace. Thankyou Kindly.
