People Drink Too Much Pop

As I am sure most of you who know me know, I work in the beverage industry.  And I have to say I find it very disturbing how much pop people drink.  It amazes me that in a time of economic crisis and skyrocketing grocery prices  (pop especially)  that pop sales have shown little to no drop.  It least not in the stores I work in.

Pop is basicly sugar and water or in America corn syrup and water.  It has zero health benefits and for the most part does not taste all that great.

Every Labor Day, Memorial Day and 4th of July the Fareways in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area hold one day sales where the big draw is of course pop at very cheap prices.  Now I have no problem with people buying cheap pop I'm just saying does anyone really need 100 cases of soda in their house. Seriously.  I know that some of these people are buying for their businesses but some of these people are buying for their personal consuption.  And they come to every sale.

In this time of ecomonic turmoil I fear that some children are going to bed with nothing but a can of Mountain Dew for supper.  There has to be something better for people to spend their money on...like bottled water.

Seriously, don't even get me started on bottled water.

    gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp..... ahhhhh.

I just finished a bottle of Pepsi.

I don't know why I've been drinking it lately. I used to drink about 1 bottle of soda/month. Lately about 4 or 5 per week.

I've actually been drinking a lot more pop lately too. But I think your 4 or 5 a week pales in comarison to what a lot of people actually drink in a day.
