IR is an alternative rock band from Vilnius, Lithuannia. The band started in 2003 and have stormed the Lithuanian rock scene, winning probably all of the young band competitions and awards that year.

Winter of 2005, the band released their debut album Now or Never and received rave reviews from critics not only in Lithuania but abroad as well. "The album has a drive from the beginning on. [...] Amazing quality so early in the band's history" wrote Overhook Music from Finland.

IR is a very active live band. They have played together on the same stage as Tito and Tarantula at Rudsrock fest 2004. That same year the band played shows in Germany, Holland, and England. The band received the Best Rock Band of the Year at A.LT 2005 (Lithuanian Alternative Music Awards), and their album, Now or Never was nominated in the Album of the Year Category. The ever popular indie music site ArtistDirect (ubl.com) selected IR for their artist of the week.

2005-2006 brought the band many more a show not just in Lithuania but Latvia and Poland as well. Video from the tour and the concerts was filmed and made into a rockumentary style music video for the song Hell. The music video was then nominated at A.LT 2006 for Best Music Video of the Year. IR itself was nominated in the Rock Band of the Year category.

In the spring of 2007 IR toured Eastern and Central Europe. At the end of the summer they played in one of the biggest festivals in the baltics, Be2Gether with other acts such as Therapy?, The Bloodhound Gang, Datarock and others. In September of that year, the band shared the stage with Fun Lovin Criminals, Ed Rush, and Nigel Kennedy at Vena Fest in Poland.

The first half of 2008 the band dedicated to touring. IR played more than 20 concerts in Lithuania, Latvia, Germany and Finland. During the summer months the band started their own small studio, and recorded 4 new songs. In November, in record time they, filmed their first full quality music video for their song Snake Pit.

During the end of 2008 those four new songs and the music video were released on an EP called EP_graph. The release shows for the were not only in clubs, but IR also played a live on the radio release show in a toned down manner with two guest musicians on double bass and violin. The release concert broadcasted from the legendary LRT studios in Vilnius, Lithuania live on Opus3 Radio. They released the EP with Creative Commons, which lets bands released titles for non-commercial use. Everyone that came to the EP release shows received the EP for free.

In December 2008 IRs music video debuted on MTV Baltic and started at number ten on the Baltic Top 20 Chart where it has stayed 9 weeks! On MTV Baltics Best Lithuanian Music Video Top 10 list, Snake Pit received 4th place, and was on MTV Baltics' rock chart for 3 weeks.

In the beginning 2009 the music video also won Best Music Video at the A.LT awards in 2008 IR also took home a second A.LT award, winning Best Rock Band of the Year!

At the end of 2009, IR Released a live album, recorded with a studio audience at LRT studios, and was transmitted live on the radio as well. The album "Minimalistic Live" was recorded with a limited set-up. The songs on the album are totally redone stylistically, and show a new side of the band never before seen.
