Way too much Sims2 lately. One more expansion pack really will be the death of me. I'm sure. The addiction continues. Just when I've put the game down, started to detox, they come out with an expansion to suck me back in again. The Sims are like crack. I need an intervention.
A more recent addiction that I've almost beat is Zuma, one of those simple little games that suck you in. If you have a job that you need to keep, a child you need to care for, or a relationship with someone you love - do not start playing this game.
My time spent in Japan...
...is to blame for my Hello Kitty obsession:
Music
Lately country, sung loud along with the radio, by me, to the windshield audience while on my hellish commute, trying always to decide which one I could get away with singing at karaoke once everyone else is drunk enough. And then I stay home on Friday/Saturday nights.
(Sometimes I sing to my cats =^..^= meow)
Movies
Entirely too many movies to list. But here's a random sampling of the first few to come to mind in no particular order:

Heights
Crash (see this if you haven't - incredible)

Secretary
50 First Dates
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Pieces of April (I *love* this movie)

Million Dollar Baby

Beauty and the Geek (never, never tell!)
fluffy cotton candy for the mind "reality" shows.
Books
Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts is the book I grew up thinking I would someday write, and then Billie did, and she wrote my favorite book in the entire world. The movie was OK, but not nearly as delicious. Lots of other good books I've loved, but nothing quite like this one.
Lately, every Sujata Massey book written so far in the Rei Shimura series. Such good stuff and so many memories of Japan while reading.
Heroes
1. People who protect children and animals.
2. People who are there when scary tragedy in any form strikes.
3. People who take time from their lives to do something useful for others. 4. My local barista.
Lattes, my kitties, Mo, figuring out a way to never have to work again, waterfalls, and finding my place next to the ocean are my passions. Oh, yah, and anything Japan, Hello Kitty and my Sims2 addiction. Most of the rest doesn't really matter.
What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
Who I'd like to meet: I've met enough people... Just kidding. I'd like to meet more of the good guys, fewer of the bad guys. OK, you got me, maybe I would like to meet Oprah.
lol... thanks :) I hope it doesn't look like I am trying to hard, I just liked how the picture turned out and I finally have something recent!! :) how are you!?
Just wanted to say congratulations and Thank you! I have 97 days, and I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you sooo much for sharing, you got me through the toughest days, so Yay Maggie!!
Oh Dear Sweer Maggie! You are auch an inapiration for me. I'm workin on day 6 right now and I certainly have my upds and downs. This may be TMI but I think I am PMS'ing right now so that can't be helping with the mood swings. I know I can do it. I Love Myself, my fiance and my friends ( cyber and real life) and family not to quit. Please keep the the encouragements coming, they really do seem to help; plus everytime I feel like I want a skoke I repeat at least 3-5 times " I AM A NON SMOKER, I AM A NON SMOKER ETC..." By the time I'm done woth that the craving has ususally (but not always passed).
I am and will be eternally grateful for your support.
I started Chantix last Saturday and yesterday was my first day taking .5 mg 2 x day. I'm starting to feel the effects more today, but I must admit I haven't been able to cut down on my smoking as much as I wanted to by now. My quit date is Sat the 25th, I was hoping I could rely 50% on Chantix and 50% on willpower but I think it will be more like 25% Chantix 75 % Willpower! Never the less, I have will power and I know it will be tough, but I am confident I'll be able to do it.
Thanks for checking in with me! Please check in with me as often as you can, it helps to be accountable to as many people as possible, ya know what I mean!
Oops! I accidentally removed your blog comment instead of replying. D'oh. The new car is a 2008 Toyota Matrix. Check out my pics! (I'm still following your exploits, my dear, just not so much with the commenting lately.)
Look - it's me again! How's it going? Hope this finds you well! One of these days I'm going to be down there and will actually come and say 'hi' in person! Take care! :)
