Sponsor a Child in Need
Want to help me in the fight against Poverty and Disease. Become a sponsor, for just under a Dollar a day you can provide food, water, shelter, education, health care, and many other thing to a child in extreme Poverty. Sponsorship of a child is a very faith-lifting experience that allows you to communicate with your child and provide them with everything they need to live a much better life. One thing that really touches my life is when i receive letters from my sponsor child. I can feel the happieness of my child in his letters. Becoming a sponsor is a great way to save a child's life and make a difference in the world. Fundraisers are an excellent way to get people involved in donating money to fighting Poverty. By gathering donations from your family and friends, you than make a great donation to a charity, or sponsor children, or maybe even use it to go on a Mission Trip. I know of a person who was having a party, and instead of having people bring gifts, they decided to have people donate money. Even though there was only about 10 people that came, a little over $100 was raised through donations. This may not seem like alot of money to us, but the money really made a difference to the people of Mexico (where the money was donated). So as you can see a fundraiser is a great way to raise money for donating to charities and other outreaches. I know that our youth group at our church holds fundraisers to go on mission trips throughout the year. Fundraisers are easy to do and are very effective. Even a little bit of money can dramatically change the life of a child living in Poverty. I encourage you to try holding a fundraiser like my friend has. It is an awesome way to reach out to children in need.
World In Need is currently holding a fundraiser to raise money for the famine in Eastern Africa. We are selling shirts to help spread the word about Poverty and get people involved in the fight against poverty. The shirts are $15 and come in a variety of colors. You can see the shirts under our pictures. Facts about Poverty
- Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn't happen.
- Half the world nearly three billion people live on less than two dollars a day.
- The lives of 1.7 million children will be needlessly lost this year because world governments have failed to reduce poverty levels
- 30,000 children die each day due to poverty
- Almost 4 million babies die annually in the developing world during their first week of life.
- A child dies every three seconds due to Poverty
- It takes one Day for 8500 people to become infected with HIV/Aids
- 1 in 5 people live for under a dollar a day due to extreme Poverty
- 1 in 7 people do not have access to clean drinking water
- Over 100 million children can not afford to go to school
- If America would give One percent of its budget,
We can help prevent 10 million children from becoming AIDS orphans
We can help get 104 million children into grade school.
We can help provide water to almost 900 million people around the globe.

Post a comment on this site to coordinate with other people who wish to be involved with this type of poverty awareness.
5) Write your local member of congress or MP about this issue. This can be done by using the map below or through this hyperlink: Contacting Congress or United Kingdom's Government
6) Comment section - Utilize the comment section for coordinating with other people. Post a comment, if you have any ideas on how to help end extreme poverty.
7) Sponsor a Child with- Children International-
8) Get the Media Involved-Write letters to the local and national papers. Always remember that local media are always looking for good stories.
