Bio
Hello my name is Molly... .... .. I am ..just.. a devoted fan of Eric Bogle. ....Not.. the actual Eric Bogle... I am not in contact with Eric Bogle so I can't answer any questions about shows, etc. However ..if you have any questions or requests about songs please let me know.. and I will try my hardest to get them up on the website for you! You can visit his web site at ericbogle.net. ...... A gentelman by the name of ..Ben Watkins.. has a stock of his 3 LPs that were made on the autogram records label back in the 1970's . They are all available in MINT unplayed condition for 15 pounds each. You can email him on benwatkins9876@hotmail.com if you are interested. .. .. Eric Bogle is roundish, shortish, baldish, fiftyish and Scottish. An Australian resident for 35 years, and an Australian citizen since 1982, he is an internationally known and respected singer/songwriter and has been taking his music around the world for the last 25 years or so, in spite of warnings to "stop it or you'll go blind" Eric is a warm and engaging stage performer, and his songs have the knack of getting straight to the heart of the matter with intelligent and well-crafted lyrics. His songs have been recorded by many other artists ranging from Joan Baez, Donovan, The Pogues and Mary Black through to our own late, great Slim Dusty. He has recorded 14 CD's so far, and is at present working on his 15th. A DVD is also in the tentative planning stage, but will probably remain so unless Eric wins Tattslotto in the next couple of years. Eric has been described as a bit of a living legend, a label which he is uncomfortable with, but, as he says, "it's marginally better than being a dead legend"... Eric has just finished a tour of North America (his 11th) together with his partner in crime, John Munro. 2006 promises to be even busier for The Elderly Brothers, (as they are often called by their peers, more or less respectfully - well, probably less). Trips to Scotland, Alaska and touring UK and Ireland with a couple of side trips to Denmark are all confirmed, plus Eric will be touring with Colcannon around Eastern Australia in February/March April 2006 to promote his new CD "Other People's Children". (See the concert schedule on the web-site for confirmed dates). After that they are both planning emotional and physical meltdowns, followed by intense therapy, followed by more touring. They hope to do a separate tour of Western Australia in 2007, because as any self-respecting Sandgroper will tell you, Western Australia is a totally different country from the decadent and wimpish east of the country. 10 of 144More@ Philippe This isn't an official page of Erics, I'm posting a link to the contacts on his official website. I would suggest trying the info@ in the first instance but if you don't have any luck with that try the Austraia link.Good Luck, it's a wonderful song!! http://ericbogle.net/contact/index.htm
Hello, I would love to sing a version of the song "the green fields of France" on my future album. How do I go about obtaining authorisation to do so, please? This song means a lot to me. I was born in this part of France and I would like to pay a tribute to the members of my family who have died there during the 1st and 2nd world war. To me, this is one of the most beautiful texts ever written on the subject. Thanks and big respect. Phil.
