    An international avant garde music and art project started by Sergey Voronzov that has its roots first in Moscow in the 80s illegal underground scene under various different names, line-ups and in a collective spirit , Middle Russian Elevation being probably the most known band from these associations. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As Voronzov moved to Berlin in the late 80s he established himself as an installation artist, maker of mosiacs and painting , Also , he brought with him text extracts, riffs and melodies and started up the band Unterwasser - http://www.myspace.com/unterwasserende . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A new Millenium, new friendships and some old ones re-animated, saw the birth of Animal Cops. Ilf, radio maker from St.Petersburg and conspirator on culture ship M S Stubnitz joined Voronzov creating electronic backbeats, psychedelic samples and soundscapes together with keyboardist and composer Ivanka Skrivanek and a new sound was created from Voronzovs song sketches . Soon after Coost , from somewhere-near-Manchester, U.K. , and also an M S Stubnitz collaborator, joined the trio adding a performance dynamic to the show plus some twisted English and German text translations , creating a new multi-lingual vocal pastiche. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The new show went on the road together with an old musician/virtuoso friend Stalker from Moscow making his first visits to Berlin. Within a couple of years of each other Ilf and Stalker died, Voronzov, Ivanka and Coost carried on, taking with them the spirit of their lost friends and kicking Animal Cops in to the future .... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE 2010 - Animal Cops Re-Loaded : a new chapter begins as Coost and Voronzov undertake new sonic experiments in hometown Berlin with the Croatian born, "Bassline Provider" , Producer and Dj Tricky D. and Miss Vergnuegen - multi instrumentalist, performer and all-round femme fatal / resident hostess at the Berlin sub-culture temple Haus Schwarzenberg. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The musik style journeys through rock, funk, dub and avant garde, relying on catchy melodies and looping guitar hooks, with electronic back beats, keyboard, bass, violin and live percussion . +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The lyrics are often re/de-constructed mixes of old Russian fables sung in Russian , English, German and Non-Sense. Texts are remixed and re-spun within a post modern context often using animals as pretext: "So Many Animals Here And a Full Moon in the Sky, Mama! ich moechte nach Hause Aber ich habe nur ein Bein.."
