    Chelsea Williams has done something unheard of: she has sold 100,000 records just by singing on the streets of Los Angeles. She picked up the guitar at 13 and started writing and performing her own music soon after. Starting out on the club and coffee shop circuit of Los Angeles, she learned that she could make more money - and fans, for that matter - by playing on the street. Pretty much every weekend for six years, Chelsea has pushed her dolly piled high with her equipment, through busy streets and parking garages, setting up, playing and then dismantling her gear, three or four times a day. The albums are sold, one at a time, by making a fleeting, yet memorable, connection with her ever-changing audience. One day last year, while playing on the street, Chelsea was spotted and picked to star in a comercial for Chevrolet depicting the hauntingly familiar role of a busker who who plays wherever and whenever she can. Soon after filming the commercial, Chelsea was signed to Interscope Records by A&R Executive Larry Jackson. She is now finishing up her first album as a signed artist (working with Toby Gad), set to be released later this year. I think it's safe to say, Chelsea's future's so bright, she's gotta wear shades.

But mostly, Neil Young, James Taylor, CSN, Sheryl Crow, Billy Whiteacre, The Beatles, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Bonnie Raitt, Sting, REM, Nirvana, and Pink Floyd (I know my music sounds nothing like theirs, but whenever I hear them I get inspired).
