6 Day Riot Have A Plan reviews:
"a great big, bouncy, cynic-defying barrel of fun" Word
"sunny harmonies, calypso beats, buoyant melodies and quirky lyrics. Unashamedly poppy and irrepressibly charming" NME
"Stealing beats and licks from all over the folk-pop globe, ukulele led acoustica bursting with a joyous Afro-Latin energy... recalling the post punk clatter of Bow Wow Wow with a side order of Vampire Weekend" Uncut
"Lush" Independent on Sunday
"Fin de siècle folk-pop.. splendid" The Times
"Woozy Folk-Pop, a glorious jamboree of sound and sentiment. Come join the parade." Clash
"rich both lyrically and musically, an enchanting album" The Fly
"Think Los Campesinos crossed with Emmy the Great at an evangelical church meeting with a revolutionary political agenda" Artrocker
"Unashamedly poppy and unashamedly fun while touching on serious, almost cathartic issues makes for a fine, fine record." 8/10, 405
"Fuzzy, expressive, eccentric earthy pop songs" The List
"A spur of the moment outburst of joy and elation, the arrangements here are finely crafted and utterly gorgeous folk-pop gems, all plinky ukulele, rousing horns, Eastern European rhythms and wide-eyed fanfares. A bracing listen, possessed of grace and momentum, honesty and conviction, tempered by sadness but refusing to be overwhelmed by it" **** Maverick
"Tamara Schlesinger, the mainstay of 6 day Riot is really a folk reincarnation of Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow, with added mariachi, strings and a sharp take on the world around her. Her lyric writing is sophisticated, shying away from the obvious and the cliched, and taking on the personal and the political in intelligent ways ('O those kids' a song about runaway canoeist John Darwin, is the outstanding track, a folk operetta in 3 minutes). But it is the marvellous musical melting pot that is most exciting part. The hard drums, the sweet strings and the generous use of uke, accordion and melodica, these are all used to generate joyous folk pop. At times, as on the drunken carnival waltz that interrupts 'Go! Canada', this is a wild extravagance, but for the most part the multiple possibilities are presented with restraint. "

6 Day Riot were named as one of the "top 10 pop-picks for 2009" by The Times
Bring On The Waves EP reviews:
"The recent EP of irrepressibly charming songs give evidence of a band accelerating to greatness." Pete Paphides (The Times Pop Picks 2009)
"This U.K. alt-folk outfit has the infectious grooves, nimble musicianship and joyous sing-alongs to win over a room of strangers." The Star (Canada)
"...nothing about Bring On The Waves feels contrived, calculated or wilfully different for the sake of difference and that’s becoming an increasingly rare commodity...what we may be looking at here is the next important band from Britain." Ground Control Mag (USA)
"...Four songs of brilliance, full of warmth and tender heart. They entertain and mix it up to create their own brand of catchy, sun drenched pop...Four songs isn’t enough. Brilliant stuff." TLOBF
"Go! Canada...a great little single" - Steve Lamacq - BBC Radio 2
"Their repertoire is divided up between boisterous clap/sing/stomp/dance-alongs and more pensive numbers, all arranged and executed beautifully and with a melodic skill and ingenuity that would be impressive from much more seasoned bands, let alone one so tender. And while the prevailing mood is jubilant, closer inspection of the lyrics reveal that even behind the widest smile there can be heartfelt sadness." Frank Yang - Chromewaves.net

Hello 6 Day Riot & people who like 6 Day Riot... We're looking forward to your show with Jeremy Warmsley in London on Weds August 12th - you can get tickets through our page now! See you there x
Briliant launch party last night. Great fun. Fully plugged worked better than the half plugged/unplugged from spittle fields the other week, and that in it's self was still realy good. Would definitly go and see another london gig as soon as I can. The seven of you on stage to do The Last Stand will stay with me for a long time yet, and Yadada was a great one for an encorte.
Thank you all again for signing my coppy of the pre-release. It shall go in a safe, but visible, place.
Nice idea for the art work with the book-o-words in the real version. Now all I need is some small counters and some dice I can have a game of snakes and ladders. Seriously though it is a nice design.
Hope to see and here more from you all for years to come.
Hope the every thing in the imediate future gose well.
Hey T! You played Glastonbury! Awesome! Wow - you are lucky to have such a radical film-making friend! I'm trying to be our filmmaker, and like I said.....it might be out of my reach. Tell your friend to become a rabid blue rabbit fan so that our songs soak in like yours did to inspire one more video! :-) You tease me! I want to come over there so bad!! I am admiring your radio play and reviews from afar. It's all warm and glowing and magical and so well deserved! I'll keep my eye out for next video! xoxox H and crew.....
RFYL Single bought listend to and enjoyed (dispite listening to the pre-release album for the last week or so).
I do hope it goes well in the charts.
Also decided to indulge my self and buy Bring on the Waves and Foilie A Deux.
Foilie A Deux is different, not nearly as jumpy and energetic as 6 Day Riot Have A Plan (and after reading the Bio on your band website I think I might understand why). Though it is still good stuff.
kids and i thoroughly enjoyed the cancer research busk. thanks for signing the album for us. We love the music and it's been added to the kids 'bouncing on the bed' playlist at their request!
Hi Rioters, just a few things. Cancer Research busk was brilliant. Also, even though I heard the song at least 3 times that during the day, I had the chorus of Run for your Life in my head, without listening to the pre-release CD I bought, constantly during a 2 and a half hour walk after the busk, occasionaly breaking out in to humming, mouthing and at least once even out right singing (although calling what I do singing would be stretching it a bit). I think you've picked a winner there as a single, which is on itunes now and I shall buy before the singles sales are tallied at the end of the week. Thanks again to all of you for signing my copy of the pre-relies, though I am still two horn players/percussionist down at the moment it seems. Something to be rectified later on. David :)
Hey Tamara, how are you all? The new song was played on Nemones show today and all afternoon I was going oooooooooh oooh oooh lol. So you decided to play Tusk, it will suit you i think. Lots of percussion in it , I saw them perform it many years ago lol. Have a great Glastonbury :D

Launch party sounds brilliant, but clashes with something else. Planning to come and see you busk though (and donate, of course!); lovely closer for the weekend.
