Like The Sundays on steroids, 6 Foot Loofah bursts forth with powerful pop tunes with haunting vocals. 6 Foot Loofah is an eclectic mix of The Sugarcubes, Portishead, The Smiths, The Sundays, Hip-Hugging Disco and 'Fro Metal. They found each other in the Spring of 2005, uniting to battle the evil forces of Wank Rock. Coerced away from such evils was guitarist "Van Lloyden," whose hair metal licks have been ridiculed into extinction. His lush Sambora-like lines compliment the beautiful, simple yet alluring melodies of beatstress Alycia Small, and the delicious grooves of bassist Shelby Murphy and skin slamma' Hunter.

6 Foot Loofah is one groovy band! Alycia kept things fresh with her powerful vocals. The band played some crowd favorites, "Consume" and "Stealing Time". Johnny was throwing out his cool cat vibe- great drummer! Shelby, is a superb Bass Player and his rythm really stands out in the songs. One of the key elements that 6 Foot Loofah excels at is that each instrument blends in well and they truly pull off a marriage of excellent power pop. "Van Lloyden" (a.k.a. Dave Lloyd) awesome guitar work! Your days playing at the Cinqo Pesos Coin Laundry Mat discotheque by night- have really paid off!
Hey guys, love to have as many fellow musicians and local bands as possible come and hang with us on thursday (we all know getting crowds on a Thursday can be dicey sometimes) at Cary Street Cafe. Definitely dig the music, and hope you can come. Hope all is well and keep rockin. Matt

Good luck to all of you. Richmond will miss your presence.
Well guys, the show was amazing, as i had expected. but the realization that it'll never happen again, not so amazing. i wish you all the best and keep me posted with your future projects. i'll always be a 6 foot fan first and foremost, but after that i'm pretty much open. Rock on! Taylor
Son of a bitch! I'm out of town this weekend; however, you can rest assured that I'll attend your final show in spirit, and my spirit, as always, will be fixated on Alycia's bust.
How are you all doing? I can't wait to hear your new songs.
Alycia-

Style Weekly 4/18/07:
The Gaskets, The Atkinsons and some of the old Matt’s crew at Canal Club
People tend to get a little wistful when talking about long-gone music venues in this town — Twisters, Nanci Raygun, the Carpenter Center — so it’s interesting to see that a bunch of bands that met at Matt’s Village Pub (turned into Fusion, which too is no more) are getting together to play. There’s the two-man pop-rock explosion of The Gaskets, the Americana heartbreak of The Atkinsons, a mix of Irish and punk with the Ex-Patriots, and Schnitzel, which advocates rocking and the German language. They recall past glories Saturday, April 21, at 8:30 p.m. $7. 643-2582.
I have your money!!! I tried to give it to you yesterday ....but you had vanished....tooo bad....I guess I will have to spend it.....since it has been 3 weeks...as
