Dashboard Confessional is by far my biggest influence but other bands include: John Ralston, City&Colour, The Rocket Summer, The Starting Line, The Early November, Elliott Smith, New Found Glory, Brand New, Secondhand Serenade, Further Seems Forever, The Color Fred, Say Anything & many many more...
Those bands influence the music aspect of 6trung but what influences my lyrics is my girlfriend Rozelyn, past relationships, my family, the future, and just everyday life.
I like to think my songs are very honest and heartfelt. So please enjoy.

6trung is composed of one member, Dan Meppelder. Dan is one of few confessional-style singer/song writters out of the Brockville Ontario area. Dan started playing guitar when he was 15 with a Vangaurd acoustic guitar borrowed from his uncle. He played this guitar for about 10 months then got his own Segovia acoustic guitar for his birthday.
He had a brief stint with a thinbody Takamine acoustic but later purchased a jumbo body Ibanez which he uses today.
He also records the electric guitars with a Gibson SG and 30watt Fender amp.
Dan started getting into the latest trend of bands in 2002 and found The Starting Line, The Early November, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday to be his favorites. He found himself listening to a lot of acoustic stuff more and more...
In 2003 Dan found the godsent that is Dashboard Confessional... (To shorten the huge story) Dan idolized D/C and still does. (www.myspace.com/danmeppelder for the whole story)
In late 2005 Dan co-founded a Brockville band with longtime friend Brandon Bailey. This all-acoustic band was known as The Everest (www.MySpace.com/TheEverest). Dan played some 6trung shows with friend Joey Ashford so he called upon him to play drums for the acoustic duo. The Everest played a few shows around the area as a three piece then asked Mike Tutecky to lay down the bass. The Everest broke up in April 2006 due to unknown reasons. The boys are still great friends.
After the breakup of The Everest, Dan took 6trung more seriously, and started playing solo shows in town. Dan continues to play these shows now.
Dan's 6trung library has up to 30+ songs and counting... Look out for new songs and new CDs coming your way!
