Interests

  • General

I am interested in almost everything. My main interest right now is how I will survive on limited income, no health insurance and no ability to save any money for retirement. If however the word , "interests" is being used to mean "hobbies", it is noted that while I use to have certain hobbies (like photography, scuba diving and travel), I can't afford those anymore.
  • Music

My favorite song is "Nobody Knows You When You are Down and Out" written and performed by Bessie Smith. Hey! give me a pigfoot and a bottle of beer!

About me:

I am a collection of all Americans who have been laidoff in the past 30 years. I obtained the approriate education for my profession, worked hard, paid my dues, was loyal to my employer and lost my job, as did many others, when the company was aquired and merged with another. The new owners needed to cut costs in order to pay for the acquisition of the company having borrowed the money to finance the deal. The state where I reside lured the company prior to the merger, with tax breaks and paid for the facility where production occurred, using your tax dollars to do so, in exchange for the thousands of jobs the company promised it would bring to the state.

I am your father, brother, mother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, lover, your cousin, your aunt, your uncle, your next door neighbor, your best friend, a member of your church, your club. There but for the Grace of God, go you.

On a personal note - my father is Jewish, my mother is Jewish and I am Jewish.

I have recently joined the Chicago Complaint Choir as a proactive healthy way to deal with the stress of my life. I am still learning HTML code - which is a pain as it is not something I really ever needed - thus the links to the Complaint Choir cites - well you may have to copy and paste for a time. They are below.

The Complaints Choirs of the World site for global information.

Who I'd like to meet:

John Maynard Keynes. Woody Guthrie, Stephen Colbert. There are others. I am just too depressed to remember who they all are at the moment.
