.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 70s Cop formed in late 2008 and have since played many shows in Brighton, Worthing, Hastings and London. Our sound has grown and developed since starting out, helped with the addition of a new drummer in September 2009. We recorded two demos in 2009, and plan to record new tracks early in 2010 to demonstrate our new sound. We also have a few great gigs booked up already for next year. .... New Drummer Robbie’s drumming style is energetic and powerful and he brings with him experience of playing with other great Brighton bands such as Saw Gang Buzz and Cymerian. The drums are complemented by Charlie’s aggressive and adaptive parts, which stray from the normal bass playing stereotypes. .... The atmospheric guitar parts provided by Anthony, reminiscent of artists such as Massive Attack and Portishead, coupled with menacing choruses and breakdowns provide the perfect canvas for Ian’s vocals. His emotional hooks hold the ears of audiences before his powerful vocals ring out on parts which sound original, whilst still oddly familiar. .... ..Our Influences are.. - Incubus, Glassjaw, Tool, Deftones, P.O.D, Audiovent, 36 Crazyfists Sevendust, 40 Below Summer, Ill Nino, Linkin Park, Bloc Party, Funeral For A Friend, Mudvayne, Unkle, Hundred Reasons, Kings of Leon, Portishead, The Mars Volta, Lamb, A Perfect Circle, Rage Against the Machine, Muse, At The Drive In, Hell is for Heroes, Nine Inch Nails, Spineshank, Foo Fighters, Finch, Silverchair, Third Eye Blind, Massive Attack..... .... "‘…its potent riffing and light-and-shade contrasts between hard aggressive rock and almost balladry, this song sets the pace for what’s to follow…’ ‘Songs like the Tool-like moods of “Nine Parts”, followed by the decidedly sad angst of “5am” display an uncanny imagination and songwriting craft…’ .. ..Paul Culnane, Ice Cube Productions, Canberra.. .... ‘We are instead met with 70s Cop and their fiery angst-ridden hard rocking wall of sound…they play a superb set.’ .. ..Stuart Rolt, bn1 magazine, Brighton.. .... ‘this unsigned band mix old and new styles to good effect producing moody music with atmosphere. Offering up three tracks of their semi introverted rock, this four piece mix elements of shoegaze with late progressive sounds to produce a powerful but controlled sound’ .. ..Paul Nixon, Online Reviewer.. .... ‘Very interesting big sound... a dose of prog which reminded me of Porcupine tree…intro pulled me in…accomplished musicians with a lot of talent...
