Sounds Like
"Already descibed as "the best band to emerge from Rugby since Spiritualized", the 7.20s have been promoting their debut EP since the beginning of the year and have received some great feedback. Let us add to that.
A generous five tracks demonstrate the band's range and skill kicking off with apparent French fancy 'J'Adore L'Amour', replete with gruff yet theatrical cries of 'Oooh la la' and a deep groove reminiscent of Friendly Fires, The Music and, for those of you of a certain vintage, New Fast Automatic Daffodils. Beautiful string arrangements then propel ..Blue Sunshine' from a Doves-alike piano ballad to a considerably more grandiose realm before 'Flying Kites' feasts on the low-slung bass and gliding synths of New Order while Ed Wright's schizophrenic vocal flits from Barney Sumner to Jon McClure.
...especially not on final track 'Keep on Holding On' which is, conversely, filled with optimism, supported brilliantly by an almost ..Joshua Tree'-era U2 backing. The fact The 7.20s remain unsigned is a mystery - don't record companies want sure things any more?" - Richard Brown Editor of Culture Deluxe http://www.culturedeluxe.com/news_item.asp?id=5718
"One of the best 1st E.P.s that I have come across over the last few years." -
Too Late for Thursday Promotions.
"Keep On Holding On is great...would sit nicely on The Last Broadcast [Doves]."
John Dawkins - former manager of The Enemy.
“The 7.20s are an enigmatically named bunch of attitudinous blokes from the West Midlands…Aquarian Charm is a real rock record in the old tradition of driving guitars and powerful male vocals with some great hooks and, no surprises, lyrics with balls” – Amelia’s Magazine.
“Rugby's number one band...Have The 7.20s written a bad song? I don't think so. As long as the boys continue to churn out the tunes, I'll enjoy playing them.”
Martin Winch – Presenter, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire “Introducing”.
"...A superb collection of sounds... the haunting vocal on Keep On holding On is simply irresistible" - Black Scorpion Promotions.
"Ambient and wave-worthy, great indie...guys got a good voice."- Amie Street.
"...a tight and polished set of anthemic tunes...delivering a big noise that wouldn't have felt out of place in a bigger venue." - Nick Lockey, CultureDeluxe.
“...not just the best Rugby band I’ve seen in a long while, but one of the best bands I’ve seen this year, full-stop…if there is any justice in the world, you should have record companies snapping at your heels.”
Your very welcome..... I see your playing some festival thats really good any good ones???? Thank you very much i should have some new ones up soon xxxx Antique xx
i need individual tracks... like bass drum, hats, guitar 1, guitar 2.. they are normally called stems... if you talked to warm tide about it they would know what to give you. hope all is well.
The songs of this quartet are a torrent of emotions and rates/rhythms powerful. Not hesitating to take refuge in strange and harmonious sounds which plunge the listener in a completely atmospheric universe. Influenced by groups like Pink Floy, Radiohead, Archive, MUSE, led Zeppelin…, it is on scene that the group reveals all its creativity and its alchemy; between slow pieces and others faster they make us share an Ambient Rock'n'roll as of more shivering. Without speaking about the song leader pure and unforeseeable.
i just wanted to let you know that i've got a new tune up today :D it's a little different from what i've done before so i really hope you think it's alright ! anyways, tell me what you think yeah? :]
