Songwriters Oisin and Ned met in Dublin, busking on opposite sides of the same street to evening drinkers and late night lowlife. They cemented their friendship playing & carousing together in that fair citys finest public houses.
Their search for further musical allies led them through Europe to Naples, Italy.
Here they recruited local Lothario, Massimo 'The Engine' Signorelli on drums.
Together they played their first show to 5,000 people at Piazza del Gesu during a massive G8 protest.
In the following months they supported themselves busking and playing in venues from Budapest to the Aeolian Islands and all around Southern Italy.
The identity of the band formed under the influence of fine wines, Italian cuisine and the spectacular Mediterranean landscape.
Returning to Dublin they discovered itinerant wunder-kind Freddie Stitz busking in Grafton Street (far from his native Ellershausen, Germany).
At this moment - 747s were born.
Setting sail for Liverpool (...soon to become their Hamburg) 747s were nurtured and welcomed by the local creative & dynamic music culture.
They wrote songs, slept on floors, played live and developed their distinctive harmonies.
Since then, 747s have toured with The Raconteurs, The Kooks, The Strokes, Futureheads, Yeti, The Thrills and Brendan Benson.
747s have recently resettled in London becoming ARK RECORDINGS first signing.
The band recorded their debut album, Zampano (to be released September 25th) at Antonio's Fish Market, London under the watchful eye of producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys) and Antonio himself.

As a friend of Killaflaw we'd like to give you the opportunity of purchasing our uniquely numbered, limited edition CD single 'Revolution' which also includes the much loved 'Holy Fuck' on the B side.
There are only 1000 copies in existence and further copies will be sold without these unique numbers, so here is your chance to own a piece of music history from the LIPA award winning band dubbed by Eddy dance/rock guru Temple-Morris "the missing link between Soundgarden and The Prodigy"
The record is of course also available to buy as MP3 download.
