sometimes a fantasy?
(Before you start shouting at me, yes, yes, I’m certain there are plenty of women out there who play fantasy baseball or football or whatever, but at least in my limited experience and haphazard googling, they’re very much the minority.)
So here’s the question I’ve been tossing back and forth with some friends, without any satisfactory answers. Is there something about the concept of fantasy sports that appeals specifically to men? (And -- as one friend of mine has proposed -- does that something share a common thread with other predominantly male ’fantasy’ hobbies, like video games, D&D, and internet porn?)
Feel free to leave your men are from mars wisdom in the comments. I’m curious, but as someone who’s not particularly into sports of any kind, real or digital, I feel pretty ill equipped to speculate.
