Bio
The Hollers were born as a two-man-band in the deep south of Spain, Malaga in 2004. Max RB plays guitar and sings and Howlin Sal plays drums. Together they play blues for punks: raw sound, open tunings, dronic rhythms and some drops of old blues and rock'n roll. They are influenced by blues musicians such as Muddy Waters, Fred McDowell, Jessica Mae Hemphill or Junior Kimbrough , as well as by garage rock bands as Tav Falco, Billy Childish, The Gun Club or The Oblivians. A new member, Paco de The Blackberry Clouds, joined the band a few months ago, bringing a richer sound with new instruments: bass, banjo and keyboard. In 2009 Monterrey Records released their first 7'', together with the Spanish band Little Cobras. The Hollers have performed all around Spain, including the Monkey Week 2009, sharing stage with The A-Bones and King Khan. One of the most relevant Spanish music magazines, Ruta 66, published an interview with the band last January 2010. The band is currently recording their first album in their own 100% analog studio. -
