Red Emotion Riot is a power trio fronted by young guitar slinger, Drew Voivedich, bassist, Robin Rotondo, and drummer, Greg Ford holding down the rhythm section. Red Emotion Riot was formerly known as 'The Kid Drew Band'. The band has been well known in the local scene for playing very progressive songs in many styles of music. Although their main style would be considered rock, you will hear them slip into genres such as reggae, blues, funk, country, jazz, pop, r&b and latin. The band has just released their self-titled CD featuring 7 original tunes. Drew Voivedich was born in Little River, SC, and was introduced to the guitar by his father at the age of 5. His first paying gig was with the Smokehouse Brown Blues Band. He also has played along side his father and brother. Honing his musical skills, he eventually went on to front his own band under the name The Kid Drew Band. Struggling to find the right mix of musicians Drew eventually would cross paths, through a mutual theater gig (Rocky Fretz: Piano Grande), with drummer Greg Ford. Greg was born in Gastonia, NC. Being completely self taught, his calling as a drummer was not realized until receiving his first drum set at 16. He’s played with bands, Four Way, Uncle Wonderful, and alongside members of Blackfoot, The Drifters, and Nantucket. Greg has also opened up for such acts as All Good, Morris Day and the Time, Edwin McCain, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (with Drew at his side). The two went through many bass players looking for that ‘missing link’ to their goal of putting together a power trio. Early in their time together they played such venues as The Music Farm and House of Blues. Their goal was finally reached when, after moving to Charleston, SC they happened upon Robin Rotondo for the second time in a trip back to Myrtle Beach S.C. Shortly there after Rob re- located to Charleston and the rest is history....
