We seek to follow the way of God revealed to us in Jesus Christ, study the grand narrative of the Bible, and learn from the fullness of Christian tradition. We recognize our human condition of brokenness and seek the wholeness that Christ continually offers. We believe intentional communication with God through sacred acts of prayer, communion, worship, art, music, silence and meditation on Scripture is imperative to life with God. We desire to be holistic, integrated people, believing that following God encompass obedience in every part of our lives, and that both big and small decisions are matters of faith.
As people of God we seek to be aware of God’s activity in the world and desire to follow- rather than control- where the Spirit is bringing about God’s kingdom. We hope to empower transformation in our local and global communities. To do this work, we aspire to raise up leaders who are spiritually, emotionally and relationally responsible to live as active participants in the movement of the Spirit.
The structure of our community will take its cues from the divine life of the Trinity as an example of how to live in relation to one another. We believe that God has created us to live in community rather than isolation, and we desire to be a community that is honest with God and others, and committed to following Christ’s example of servanthood. We realize that people of deep faith come to divergent beliefs on certain issues. Our task is not to seek full agreement on all things but to dialogue respectfully and listen for God’s voice. We welcome people from all spheres of life to join us on this journey to become whole people of God.
