Burning Midget is an original death metal band from College Station, Texas that combines melodies of Sweden, the speed of Norway, the growl of Florida, the brute of Louisiana, and the attitude of Texas. Though influenced directly by acts such as Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Pantera, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, Devourment, and Soilent Green - the midgets are also well-versed in classic country with the likes Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, George Jones and Willie Nelson. Formed in 2001, Burning Midget is the result of a merger between two older College Station bands that grew frustrated with the conservative local music scene and decided to bring an aggressive new sound to the area. The group immediately recorded a two-song demo to spread word about their new band to metal fans in the surrounding area. Since then, Burning Midget has built a strong local fan base by churning out an onslaught of original and diverse material blending bone crunching grooves and beautiful melodies. .. ..
