HISTORY
The rock band Heart released their first record 33 years ago in 1976. Opening the door for the rock and roll hall of fame induction process in 2001. (This group was formed in 1967 by Steve Fossen, Roger and Mike Fisher as The Army. They later changed their name to White Heart, and shortened it to Heart in 1974. The Wilson sisters, Ann joined in 1970 and Nancy in 1974, Howard Leese and Mike DeRosier joined in 1975.)

Collectively the rock group Heart evolved with symbolic melodies and lyrics full of expression that have made a major impact on the global perpetuation of the essence of rock and roll music for over three decades. In addition, an exceptional contribution in Heart’s worldwide influence is the Wilson sister’s massive revolutionary influence on other women in rock and roll history.

Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artists' contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll.
